I went to have a nice breakfast with my grandmother and my kids before we went on to have a nice outing for the day. Needless to say I would rather pay to not go back. When we got there there were no clean tables. Okay that’s understandable people get busy. So we were asked to stand in the hallway to wait for a clean table. No problem. They got the table cleaned off we sat down and waited a good 15 min to get out drink order in again okay no problem they are busy maybe. Ordered our food it came in wrong okay again no big deal they can fix it. I’m waiting for our waitress to ever come back so we can ask for syrup for the pancakes she never comes back, we are also a table of 5 in a small booth so we are running out of room with all the plates. I start stacking them and trying to flag down the waitress so I can hand her some of the trash and plates that are stacking up she never comes back. One of my kiddos start the I have to go potty train so I take them all to use the restroom. Only to come back to all our food plates and drinks gone. Okay? We were not done we didn’t even get our ticket so that was strange and when I go to meet the waitress to grab the ticket she said “do your children always make a mess when they eat at home?” Excuse me lady but when I’m at home I have a sink and a trash can to clean as I go!! I was trying to grab your attention to clear some things off the plate however you ever returned. Anyway I’ve never been one to not leave a tip I REALLY debated with myself, i left 20% tip decided she probably needed it more than I did. Considering she hates her life as a server. Maybe if you hate clearing tables so much you should change jobs. Sincerely, A mama with...
Read moreDebra and I stopped here the other day after the Foley Mardi Gras parade. I love at Hometown diner, and this place is it! As we walked in, we were greeted by two or three of the staff, invited to sit wherever we chose, Asked if we wanted a beverage as we were walking towards our table, offering a Mamosa, or Bloody Mary. !! they had recently received their liquor license, and we’re happily pouring drinks first thing in the morning We took a quick look at the menu, decided it was late enough for lunch, and proceeded to order. I had a patty melt, and Debra had the BLT, and we split an order of Young and rings. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves, enjoying their food and conversation. The bartender came by and asked how her drinks were, which we responded were great! Another lady, Marty, stop by and ask how things were, and we learned that she and her husband, Daniel had just purchased the diner, and we’re in the process of making the improvements including , drinks! Our food was delicious! Cooked to perfection, they had told us that they had tasted like 12 different kinds of bacon, and selected one, and wanted to know what we thought, it was delicious! Great choice! This is a great little diner, With a hometown field, the service was wonderful, the food was great, and I enjoyed feeling like I...
Read moreThe old Foley Coffee Shop has a new crew, but not a new look or a new atmosphere. The service seemed slow but there were a lot of orders to fill. The cook was working on 6 orders! There is one cook. I recall there being 2 cooks but maybe not because there seem to be space for one cook now. That cook seemed to be in his own little world. He never looks at you. He never says hello. He never moves faster than slow. I tried twice to get his attention and he would have none of that because he never saw me. His food was good. He could put a pancake batter on the grill, walk away, come back, and I noticed the underside was not burned but looked perfectly cooked. I did not notice any steaks on the menu. Think they have hamburger. I am not longer in the mood for meat after reading Ozzy Osbourne's account of him working in a slaughter house in England in the 1960's and what he had to do to those poor cows and pigs! I ordered a Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo sausage. Tasted good. Was not greasy. I saw the cook squirt melted butter on the grill and not oil. I recommend the burrito but if you like pancakes, then those looked good. I had to wait about 15 or 20 minutes for the Burrito becaus 6 orders were ahead of mine. That was about 9:30 or 10 am. Busy time. Go in...
