We booked a room an hour in advance, got confirmation and everything. Showed up on time, big open signs all over the front of the building, but the door was locked. They require a text when you arrive so we figured they'd unlock it for us, maybe a security measure. After 5 minutes we called, and they seemed confused, saying they didn't realize they had a booking. They told us they'd be there in 15 minutes and offered us a 10% discount after we brought up the fact that we had plans around the corner 10 minutes after our booking would've ended. After 20 more minutes of waiting, we decided that if they can't even show up, the room can't be that great (we could've been wrong, but we'll never know). We weren't going to call, but decided to do the right thing and call to officially cancel. The employee answered the phone with "hello" and then proceeded to make a big deal about how the employee had just gotten there and had "come all the way just for us". I said "Yeah, more than a third of the way through our booking" and he said okay I'll cancel and hung up. We are big escape room fans and have done many in the area, but this was our first time trying to do a room here. I'd highly reccomend going elsewhere, plus parking at folly isn't free.

There isn't really any excuse for not staffing an open buisness, nor is there an excuse for answering a buisness phone with "Hello". I appreciate the offer but that's just poor customer service and a lack of caring, open and shut. It's also worth noting that as we walked away, we saw the employee, and she was taking her time walking to the door, no sense of urgency or remorse for the mistake. Pirates of Coffin Island was such a neat immersive experience with details that made you feel like you were actually aboard a ship.
