It's rare I put up a negative review, but you got one. First issue is $31 for two croissants and Cappy's. To their defense the prices were posted, but I didn't check. These are NYC prices. The croissants could have been yesterday's, but I can't be certain. They were a little hard. No for the big rub. After sitting outside and having our stuff I had to use the bathroom. The lady just came out of said bathroom as I came back into the shop. She said, "sorry, it's employees only". I said, "we just spent $31 and can't use the bathroom "? "No, that's the policy". That right gets you the bad review. Sometimes you just have to be nice Now that said, kudos for having pictures of all the kidnapped Israeli hostages on the outside of the building.

Thrilled to see a non-large chain to support locally on the island. The coffee was good, I wouldn’t say amazingly delicious, but yes it was good. The coffee order the first time was slightly wrong with what was ordered, but they corrected it. We kept our next order to a minimum concept just in case. We weren’t greeted upon entering, so it’s not a “welcome to …” vibe; it has a very nonchalant hip coffee vibe. I did not see the cashier gentleman crack a smile once, which seemed odd for a non-chain place. We still plan to be back once or twice more before leaving because the alternative options are limited. Their location has so much potential, I’d love to see them thrive!

I went for an iced Americano and ending up falling in love with the Turkish coffee. The first time I went, I got my usual iced Americano and my friend tried the Turkish coffee (unfiltered coffee with a dash of cardamom and sweetener). I liked it so much I went back a couple days later and got the Turkish. The shop is tiny and no frills. There was only ever one person working so when it gets busy (as it did on my first trip), expect to wait for a little bit. Still, a great little spot on Folly Beach if you're not looking for anything fancy (I'm talking to any person who's ever drank a unicorn frappuccino, this place isn't for you).

Center Street Coffee: A Truly Epic Experience

If you’re searching for the ultimate coffee spot in all of South Carolina, Center Street Coffee is it, in Folly Beach. From the moment you step inside, you’re met with a welcoming warmth that feels like a big hug from an old friend.

The staff here are absolutely epic—a word that barely scratches the surface of their awesomeness! Ms. Emma, the manager, is always there, supporting her team and greeting customers with her quick wit and infectious humor. Her presence alone is enough to make your day better.

Ms. Porter is an absolute gem, taking the time to write inspiring messages on the coffee cup sleeves. I’ve been collecting them because each one feels like a little treasure. It’s such a thoughtful touch that shows how much she cares. Ms. Porter you epically rock!

Then there’s the brilliant Ms. Jordan, whose radiant smile and positive energy light up the entire place. Love chatting with her. She’s also an incredible artist—do yourself a favor and ask her to show you some of her work. You won’t be disappointed!

And Ms. Lilly? Another amazing soul. She makes every visit an epic moment, bringing so much joy and energy that you can’t help but leave with a bigger smile and a brighter outlook on life.

The coffee? Absolutely, yes, EPIC! Whether it’s a classic café americano or one of their creative holiday specials, you can taste the passion and artistry in every sip. They don’t just make coffee—they craft experiences.

I’m hopelessly addicted to this place, and I’m not even ashamed to admit it. Every morning, I work on my iPad inside for as long as I can, savoring every second (and at times getting a second crafted latte). Leaving is genuinely the hardest part of my day.

Center Street Coffee isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a community. It’s a place where the staff know your name, share a laugh, and make every customer feel special. I dread the day I have to leave this town, not because I’ll miss South Carolina (though it’s lovely), but because I’ll miss this little slice of heaven that has made my mornings so epically meaningful.

Cheers, Jordan, Emma, Porter,Lilly, and the entire epic brilliant team at Center Street Coffee, for making this place more than just a coffee shop. You’ve truly created something magical. This establishment is gets my Hook’d on Life approval....

I visited the new location of Center Street Coffee today and was initially impressed by the atmosphere. The space has a clean, sophisticated Scandinavian vibe—think lime wash vases and a few pieces of art from local artists that give it a nice, curated touch.

Unfortunately, the customer service didn’t match the aesthetic. When I walked in, a younger woman was at the counter chatting with the cashier. Their conversation went on for about five minutes without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment to me or the other guests waiting in line. It felt dismissive and unwelcoming.

When it was finally my turn, I ordered a small (12oz) vanilla latte and a brownie bar. The total came to $14.50, which felt steep for the quality I received. The menu was also hard to find—tucked off on a side wall and easy to miss.

After receiving my latte, I reminded the staff about the brownie bar, only to be told, “Yeah, we’ll get it for you.” Then… nothing. The woman behind the counter waited until another employee returned and asked her to get it for me, even though she clearly could’ve just handed it to me herself.

As for the items: the latte tasted like a basic cup of Folgers with flavored cream, and the pastry was underwhelming—not something I’d order again.

The vibe might draw me back once more just to enjoy the interior, but overall, the experience left a lot to be desired—especially...

We stopped in to get two cappuccinos and a cream cheese croissant. It was later in the day so there was really no wait. My husband went to take a drink of the cappuccino and literally burnt his tongue to the point where it immediately blistered. I know cappuccinos are very hot (we drink them everyday) but this one was probably the hottest liquid I've ever put near my mouth. So with that being said be mindful when you take a drink so you don't burn yourself like he did. Unfortunately he threw his out after that he didn't want anything to do with it, I tried to sip on mine but it was still too hot so we walked to the pier. By the time we got to the end of the pier I was able to drink my cappuccino without it burning the skin off the back of my throat. The cream cheese croissant was very good she warmed it up for us. I did an edit on my first review because I went back in today and got an iced hora latta similar to a horchata. Tasted NOTHING like it. I literally threw it in the trash by circle K. I got a blueberry cream cheese croissant to go. I got home to heat it up and it was smashed like a pancake tasted 5 days old and had ZERO cream cheese. So...
