My only criticisms are that this is, IMO, too small of a space for this type of activity. There are two boards per "lane" although you're actually paying to share a lane because of the way these are set up and if the other board isn't part of your group and doesn't care or is too drunk, you'll have to watch that they're not throwing when you are going to retrieve your axe. Maybe the lanes should have full dividers between them so to prevent any issues. It was fairly enjoyable until a huge group came in with a bunch of little kids and a few adults that either had been drinking prior to arriving or just didn't care about anyone else around them. It became too noisy for our group to talk amongst one another and there was no possible way for the 3 others that weren't throwing to stand comfortably between rounds. The little couches only seat 2 and are extremely crowded. If they had done a bar height table with 3 stools on each side per 2 boards, it would have been a bit more comfortable IMO.
If someone was going and asked us to come with, we'd probably go again. The employees were pretty decent and tried to help our situation some, but it's still a business and sometimes things happen. 🤷🏼♂️ Maybe our next visit will be a completely different experience and I'll gladly share that. I'd recommend giving them a try, if you find this review to be different than your experience, please share yours so that everyone knows that this was an...
Read moreWe were told to be there early for a 6:00 party room rental for 10 people because our time would stop right at 7:00 since it was rented out after us. We got back to the room at 5:55, where all 10 of us shared 2 lanes, so I was already disappointed (since we'd been there in the regular lanes before and six of us had shared 2 lanes), so I realized after we paid the we would have about half the time to throw as normal. Since the game room has fun technology I could make sense of that. But then they set a timer for 50 minutes and then they gave us a five minute lesson. We had 45 minutes until the timer stopped to throw in a room we paid $180 for to use for an hour. The owner came back and we asked about the time issue and he just told us we were done and that the hour included time for a lesson. Nope. They start the timer when you walk in and short it 10 minutes to start. It was fun, but a time policy that amounts to $30-45 worth of difference between the expectation and reality needs to be cleared up. It left a bad taste on an otherwise...
Read moreFondy has needed something like this for a long time. Super fun, very knowledgeable staff (most of them are legit professional throwers), and they are very friendly to newcomers. They will make sure you get the basics down, and if you ever want help with your throw, they're there for you.
The weekly league is super fun and has given me a new reason to get out and meet new people during the week.
Excellent beer selection, reasonable prices, very nice facility and quarterly leagues that make throwing regularly super affordable....
