Aldi used to be one of my favorite stores. As a kid I loved watching the lighting fast checkout employees and was obsessed with the low prices. Aldi had the goal of being the first all organic store with low prices. Aldi is now stocking Campbells and other processed food brands that are the farthest thing from organic. Lighting fast employees have been replaced with self checkouts that only except card and have no sign telling you that cash isn't accepted. I would love to see Aldi restored its previous reputation. Please make Aldi great again.
Edit: Three weeks ago I ventured to my local Forest Lake Aldi. Previous to my last visit, going to Aldi was a highlight of my week. The pure efficiency of the store, the air of fresh produce. After almost of a month of time to recover from the overwhelming disappointment of how far Aldi has fallen, I unfortunately can not say that I fully recovered. Aldi had a place in my heart and for better or worse, has lost it. This loss has left me feeling as if a part of my life has been stolen from me. Aldi is forever changed for me. I have heard from my fellow Aldi supporters that the Cambridge Aldi is a changing life experience. I am looking forward for my journey to Cambridge to restore my previous respect for the...
Read moreThe "manager" Thelma obviously doesn't have the first clue about customer service. I'm a wine maker and I watch Aldi's specials for when blackberries go on sale and they did this week. I have tried multiple times this week to call a number that was given to me by a previous manager but I guess they don't answer the phone. Finally I got someone (Thelma) to pick up and when I tried asking about the blackberries she said we are closed (at 1 in the afternoon) and hung up......no explanation, no attempt to at least find out my full question, nothing. I suppose the $100 I would have spent on an order of 49 lbs of blackberries isn't a HUGE order but if they'll treat $100 this way. How do they treat people that are spending less. Horrible service. I will never attempt to buy anything...
Read moreAldi has been my go-to grocery stop since 2013. Prices have always been significantly lower overall, and I honestly love that I only get a handful of choices per item (i.e. 4-5 pasta sauce choices vs. an entire isle). Saves me time and stress from having to price or ingredient compare! They also have organic options for many essentials.
My observation is that it is the most enjoyable to shop here is the week day mornings, and just during the day in general. Each time I have gone in the evening, things are understandably depleted (like the sourdough loafs...cough cough).
I have recommended this store to many friends and converted them from their "old ways", hehe. Thanks for giving a family of 6 a way not to break bank and still get preferred and...
