Tillicum Park — Attraction in Forks

AMAZING city park with really great features for all types. The tennis courts appeared newly restored with new nets. Large open green spaces, children's play structures and other activities for everyone. A skateboard, bike, scooter, inline skating station of pure badassery! At least, our parks never had so much in one spot. With open bathrooms, too. They are locked up at 8pm I believe maybe 9pm. ADA friendly and a large covered area that are magnificently built. A actual tank that was used in the Vietnam War and is now used as a memorial for our freedom fighting fellows that died for 🇺🇸. The ranger station and another federal facility is located next door, leading one to think the overall well-being of the parks upkeep is very important. It is a wonderful place and I hope that eventually park planners might consider covering some of the play equipment for both rain and sun. My husband and I have gone to this park over the course of two days, as we were visiting from out of town and camping, we liked using the main shelter as an area to cook our meals. Every time we went to the park there was a homeless (??) man sitting at a table (with a bike, incense, candle, music blaring, and smoking) and a homeless man camping by the main bathrooms. The man at the table was constantly on the phone (we started to suspect he was just talking to himself) and swearing every other word. His conversations ranged from Vietnam, being a security guard, very knowledgeable about the lumber business, sulfates, his wine business, a lawsuit, college education, etc. All in all the park was okay, a little bit rundown, but where the park truly shines is through this man’s performance. I enjoy the family atmosphere as you look around families are gathered having fun. Children full of laughter running about and older kids on the skateboard ramps doing their thing. Laughter everywhere and people in general enjoying. I get to walk my dog through and watch her excitement as she admires the constant activity all around us. A people place family, friends and others taking in the moment, a priceless moment to gather and create...
