Our stay at Miller Tree Inn B & B was everything we’d hoped it would be and more. There to celebrate our 14th anniversary, my husband and I were excited about our plans to explore the lush green Hoh rainforest trails and gorgeous beaches at La Push on an extended weekend. Trent and Mary Beth are the likeable young couple who recently took ownership and imbued this beautiful corner of the PNW with a delightful brand of genuine southern hospitality. Their attention to the comfort and care of their guests is obvious from the moment you step up to the front door. When we arrived, Trent greeted us in the most friendly and welcoming manner and took pains to ensure we had everything we needed to settle in and make the most of our time. The property is very clean and well-maintained with updated bathrooms, while keeping its early 20th century ambiance. Situated minutes from the main drag, it is unbelievably peaceful and quiet, especially in the evening, which was balm to the soul for this city dweller. Self-locking exterior doors provide a sense of security and privacy for guests. Tasteful nods to the Twilight books are evident throughout and fans often pull into the circular driveway to snap pics of the front of the house, which we noticed mostly because our room, The Cedar Creek, overlooks the front porch. The dawn view from those windows is a great way to wake up, and we especially got a kick out of fledgling birds chirping their hearts out as they tested their wings on the lawn around a magnificent monkey tree. Amenities included a jetted tub and bath bubbles (a lovely treat after a long day of hiking), bath robes, quality toiletries, cold drinks in the fridge, an oscillating fan and a window air conditioner. The king bed was very comfortable, which I don’t often say about accommodations. We had good shower water pressure and ample hot water for the bath. It felt cozy, a bit like staying at a good friend’s home. Our first morning, on Trent’s good advice, we ventured out quite early to get the Hoh rainforest visitor center before the crowds, fortified by his tasty, deceptively simple breakfast sandwiches and good coffee. The next two mornings we took our time to enjoy the delicious hot breakfast provided in the relaxing dining area downstairs. We spent a fun evening chatting with guests from afar on our last evening and we even lingered on the front porch swing a bit before departing for home that last day. It was hard to leave, tell the truth. I think the thing I will remember most are our hosts. Trent is a true southern gentleman and an extrovert, fostering a convivial atmosphere where guests can relax and chat with him and each other, or conversely, find a nook for quiet contemplation. Mary Beth is a lady of quiet grace working hard behind the scenes to whip up tasty meals and see to the details of running the place. They make a great team, and we hope to come back during another season. Whether you need a home base in Forks for your outdoor adventures or a place to rest and maybe read (or write!) a novel, this B & B...
Read moreWow. This was the best stay I’ve ever had and it’s not even close. I’ve stayed at some really cool places at a lot of different locations; I was a bit mind blown that there was a next level of hospitality beyond luxury and it’s really rooted in the authenticity and incredible, warm hearted execution of this place. I really, really wanted to leave a review because I was in awe of the owners’ extremely meticulous attention to detail. They are truly masters at what they do and I’m SO glad I got to experience it. It’s just incredibly rare to find people who are both so talented at running an operation, yet at the same time, so kind and welcoming. I booked VERY last minute, and they had me good to go almost immediately. They even called to check in on me (which I really appreciate because last minute booking can be rough sometimes).
Everything about the Inn is just incredibly well done and crafted in a way to make the guests feel at ease and like they’re at home. They truly want you to feel like they’re cared for. I stayed there during Christmas; and they had the place decorated perfectly. They clearly spent a LOT of time doing it. It crossed my mind several times that they must have spent a WHILE just decorating. With the level of decoration they do, they need an entire off site storage to hold all the stuff for each season/holiday and that’s not hyperbole. I genuinely don’t know where they keep it unless they just redo it each year and buy new stuff. Even the pillows on the chair in the living room were Christmas themed. In the dining room they have tea/hot water/coffee/cider/hot chocolate, snacks, candy and bananas. In my room they had more coffee, tea, creamer, soda, water, bath robes, a fire place, bathtub and virtually everything else I needed. In the living room I spotted games, a whole DVD collection a piano and there was probably WAY more that I missed. They made a lovely breakfast in the morning as well. Breakfast was 8am (you can sign up for later if you’d like)- the owners must be waking up at 6-6:30 am EVERY SINGLE DAY to do this for everyone. Keep in mind they’re also on call a night as well.
The Inn is reason enough for me to return and stay in the area; without a doubt. I hope the owners realize how great they are and take some time for themselves and find a way to take a little bit of the load of their shoulders. It’s clear they work unbelievably hard at doing everything they can for their guests and I really hope they can do this for a long a time!! There is a reason why people like this are so rare in the travel industry; it’s extremely hard they’re doing. I really hope they receive everything they wish for in their...
Read moreThe people who own this bed & breakfast are just simply amazing people!! Me & my family stayed in the Orchard suite, it was so nice!! The owners cook the breakfast & serve you themselves!! They use clean ingredients/ healthier options when making said breakfast also!! Which I absolutely love as a mom who has cut out so many processed things from my family’s diet! A lot of people stay here because of “Twilight” & all there is to see that is Twilight but you leave with a whole new understanding of community & just good people + seeing so much more than just places about a movie! We learned so much about the forest there, that only a short drive up the cost there is a hot springs, soleduck falls, & lapush beach (the most amazing sunset I have ever saw in my life)! Everyone was so nice!! We really enjoyed our stay here!! It has been THE nicest place I have ever stayed at hands down!! This beats any hotel, or any other type of establishment you think you could find! We loved it so much up there I really could see ourselves moving one day there or at least vacationing a lot more often! We already miss it dearly!! Thank you for such an amazing stay while me & my family were there!!
Inside our suite was a full kitchen if we wanted to make our other meals there, a fireplace, cable in the living room part, if you have Netflix, Amazon, etc you can log in to your account to watch it in the bedroom, complimentary sodas & coffee/cream, complimentary snacks out in the main eating area, tons of movies you can borrow to watch or books to read, but the best part was the bath inside our suite!! It looks like it had all just been remodeled!! They do have the graduation caps on the wall & Dr. Cullens office for you to view from twilight. Locks on all the main doors, you’ll get your own code for your stay + a key to your own room/suite! It is a quieter establishment, so if you are vacationing with your children, be mindful of others staying there. To not have them slamming doors or running all over the place or being very loud past 9pm. I had my 6 & 12 yr old and they were just fine but I did talk with them before we stayed there about what is to be expected of them. I believe there is only 1 suite that does allow children so check before booking!! I also believe you have to have a 2 night minimum of staying here also but check that as well. I can’t wait to see what they add to this beautiful place or what it’ll be like next time we go back!! Because we definitely...
