Hello,
First I want to say that this is our family vacation spot and we only stay at your hotel. Its our tradition. Historically we have stayed in room 101. Last time we stayed in room 101 the pull our couch was broke and no one to fix it so our guests had to sleep on the floor. I tried to work with the guest service clerk and she had no solution or offered any type of help. I let it sly because we just adore your hotel. This last time I reserved a room which I thought was room 101 (my mistake) its hard to tell which room is which online. I realized I had made a mistake and called to correct it and the lady that helped us said no worries i will correct the room in our system and said she hopes we have a wonderful stay in the jacuzzi suit room 101. I made the reservations months ago! When we arrived we quickly found out that the room situation was never in fact corrected. We were in room 254 this time.. its not as nice as room 101 and it would have been okay if it were a ground floor and they couldn't help me change rooms because they had just booked room 101 out that afternoon. First I was upset because the room is up stairs and I can't do stairs and i can't do stairs very well yet as I just had back surgery and a partial knee replacement. Again, no apology was given and no offer to make it right. Absolutely nothing. It hurts my heart because this is our families vacation spot. Its the last place we had our oldest daughter before she passed away so we try to come as often as possible and stay in room 101 which is where we stayed with her. I know its weird but its something that brings us peace. I am very disappointed because I feel like we should have been offered an accommodation or discount or something. At the very least an apology.
The back side of the hotel (where we stayed) was also occupied by some guests down stairs that had dogs who were unleashed. After using your bbq facility and trying to clean up we had a dog rush up on us and growl which scared the kids. I know thats not your fault but I think you should know.
Also, the kitchen sink is very hard to get to turn off. The water keeps coming out unless you maneuver it a certain way. It probably needs some adjustment.
Look, the bottom line is that we really do love your hotel. It has a very special place in our hearts and we would love to continue to stay there and referring our friends and family but if these issues persist I cant see us coming back and that is really unfortunate.
I feel like we have put forth a lot of money to stay there because this place is so special to us and not even receiving an apology or offer to make things right is...

My sister and her 2 teenagers visited us from east coast, and the 5 of us went to Olympic NP. I booked 2 Forks Motel rooms for the night of Jun. 28th.
On that day my husband and the kids hiked the North Coast Trail, and my sister and I waited at Rialto Beach paring lot, expecting to pick them up after their 20-mile-hike at around 7pm. We waited and waited, at first there were a lot of people on the beach, then it got dark around 9pm, when we were almost the only ones there, and it was raining, 55℉. FYI, there are no cell phone signals at that area.
We started to get worried, and decided to call 911, the only number we could dial out. 911 dispatcher told us we were on NP territory and they would notify park rangers to come help us. After 10pm a park ranger came. Minutes before that, we finally reached our family members with walkie-talkie, and were relieved to know that everybody was fine, but they still had 3.8 miles to go. The park ranger officer also said under this kind of situation they could not walk out before midnight.
So the 2 of us had to stay in our car at the parking lot for the night, not knowing when they would be out. The walkie-talkie signal was also not stable. We stayed because we didn't want them to find out nobody was there waiting for them, and they had to walk god knows how long to make phone calls when they came out.
It was 7:20am the next morning when they finally walked out, exhausted and soaking wet. They decided to stop walking around 1am because it's so not safe to continue.
We drove to the Forks Motel, hoping to use our rooms to take hot baths which they needed badly. The front desk told us we were already checked out cause we didn't show up before 11pm without informing, but we could use the lobby bath with cost. As the 3 of them were taking baths in turns, I explained to the hotel staff what happened, and it was impossible to call them the night before. Our rooms were already charged, and we totally understood the hotel policy. It was not their fault and there is no reason for them to bear the cost. It was until I checked my credit card statement when I found out they refunded my 2-room-fare, only charged me the lobby bath. They didn't even tell me when we said good-bye to them. Such a big surprise!
So the Forks Motel made a miserable night less miserable. Will definitely stay at this hotel next time we go there, and thank these nice...
Read moreWe have no idea why there are positive reviews for this motel! My husband and I stayed at the Forks Motel last week. The first room they gave us was located directly next to the main busy roadway. We could hear the traffic noise so we returned to the office to obtain a different room. The only room available (at a higher cost) was room 151, one of their "apartments" which was a two bedroom and kitchenette. We tried to find accomodations at other hotels in the area, but everything was sold out. When we entered the room, it smelled like someone had fried fish! We opened all the windows and went out to get dinner, returning an hour later. The rooms still smelled bad and we tried to find the source of the odor. I even sprayed room freshener around trying to abate the smell. I noticed that the lamp and clock were unplugged in the bedroom, I moved out the nightstand to plug them in and saw used QTips behind the nightstand. My husband went to make coffee and in the coffee maker was a used coffee filter/grounds. One of the holders for the toilet paper had fallen off the wall and was laying on the floor! Seeing this made me question the quality of the "cleaning" in this unit. We did not sleep on the sheets, but opted to sleep on top of the bedspread using our personal blanket. The "kitchenette" looked like it was still the original 1960s cabinets and countertops. One countertop had significant burn marks and tears. The cabinet doors were old and beaten up. The appliances were also extremely old. One of the lamps had a tear in the lampshade. The tabletop in the kitchenette was significantly scratched, the furnishings were also well worn and frayed. Even the reception area was tired and dated. It was a very depressing place to stay. The only thing nice about this motel were the blooming flowers outside the office area! Based on what we saw, we opted to only stay one night as we had been driving all day and were quite fatigued. We have been world travellers for 52 years and this was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. It was obvious to us that no money has been invested in rehabbing, maintainging or...
