First off, I need to admit that I made a huge mistake. I left my service dog in my motel room for about a half hour, unattended, after a stressful trip and that was a massive bad call on my part. After missing 3 ferries, being 2 hours late, and sharing a car with a senior and a large service dog for over 5 hours, by the time we got to the motel my brain was not performing right. For some reason I thought it was okay to leave my service dog behind while we went down the street to get dinner. Regardless, I need to be accountable and openly apologize for leaving my dog in the room, because it was a bad decision. My dog was clearly stressed out and we should have decided to take her with us, instead of leaving her behind in an unfamiliar room after a long stressful venture. There were multiple guests and staff that were affected by this mistake and I am so sorry for what this issue may have caused... Now, I understand that some customers were upset, and they have every right to be, however, I do NOT think it's appropriate for any of those customers, who were upset, to scream, yell, or berate the front desk associate. That is completely unacceptable. What I did was wrong. No doubt. There are plenty of excuses and reasons for why I made this mistake. Regardless, I am taking accountability for this choice. What I didn't think would happen was that some of those customers deliberately treated the front desk associate like trash and it was extremely upsetting. Just because you're mad that something happened, that may have disturbed your peace, DOES NOT entitle you to emotionally abuse or harass an innocent worker that IS NOT responsible for what's happening. Someone could have dropped from a heart attack, causing ambulances and firetrucks to arrive, which would have been loud and disturbing. What happened, whether it was an accident, incident, preventable or not; unexpected things happen that upset us all the time and it's NEVER okay to toxically infect another human with your anger because you feel mad and want to feel better by unloading your anger trash onto someone else. I came into town to enjoy nature with my grandmother. I don't know how much time I'll have left with her... but now I am left with this immense guilt and frustration for how this accident was handled by other customers which completely taints the trip we made. I realize I have a lot of responsibility in this, but at the same time, learning that an innocent person had to endure the screaming and yelling of motel guests, because they were incapable of emotionally regulating... That really disturbed me. My grandmother doesn't deserve to feel guilty or have her mother's day ruined over this. * Side note: Forks is a little town full of very kind people. It's not what I imagined it would be. I enjoyed the room, the bed was firm, like most motels, but comfortable. We enjoyed the town as best we could and the room was the best room for the price. As nice as this motel is, As kind of a town as this place seems to be, I don't think I'll be coming back. This experience was needed, but it was sad. The motel is the best one in town, I'm sure, but please be reasonable with what you're expecting. The rates are overpriced in this town, but I understand why. Pacific Inn is 4 star worthy and I think it's the rating they deserve. The showerheads are abrasive and the parking isn't ideal when they're busy. I haven't seen any handicap spots and I'm disabled (spinal disease) so that would have been very helpful. I also think that how we handle difficult situations heavily reflects on our personal integrity. Wishing this town & all the Pacific Inn staff the...
Read moreStayed here in room 212 (second/top floor) mid-July for four nights while visiting the western locations of Olympic National Park. The room was located away from the road, so road noise was never a problem for me with the A/C going.||I was very impressed at how well maintained this property is for a small motel. You can tell the owners, Jim & Laura Decker, really care about the place and take pride in it being a great little lodging location in an area where most things are pretty dismal. Everything was very well-kept, freshly painted, and the rooms are extremely clean compared to most motels nowadays. I found my room to be the cleanest one I've stayed in for many years now.||The room had one queen bed and a recliner, which I didn't use. There was plenty of storage space and furniture including two nightstands and at a table with two chairs. A/C was adequate even though it was hot outside. The mini-fridge worked great with plenty of space and a small freezer section. The microwave was small, but it did the job. The television was adequately large, but since I never turned it on, I don't know how well it worked nor what channels it got (I think there was a channel guide card though).||The bathroom tub and toilet are in a separate space from the sink and closet area, but both were very nice and immaculately clean upon arrival. There was no mold of any kind, and even the caulking around the fixtures was pristine (very impressive). My only complaint is that there are no hand towel racks near the sink to allow towels to dry; they must lay on the counter top and stay damp, thus requiring them to be changed more often. ||There was a guest laundry room with vending machines and an ice machine that worked well. There was a nice patio area behind the hotel for relaxing, but I was never able to take advantage of it, due to early mornings and later nights out in the park.||Even in a "sold out" week mid-July, there seemed to be adequate parking for hotel guests.||The only negatives I can mention are the lack of any breakfast (they had only coffee/tea in the lobby) and the lack of an elevator to reach top floor rooms. I love being on the top floor of hotels to avoid noise issues, but when you have to lug all your stuff up stairs multiple days, it's gets tough. ||The location in the middle of town was very convenient, as was the restaurant right next door, which my friend and I dined in frequently during our stay.||I would highly recommend The Pacific Inn Motel for a stay in the Forks area, but make your reservations VERY early for spring, summer, and even autumn visits. It stays booked up for most of the good-weather months, but it is seemingly the best place to stay...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed in the Executive Suite at the Pacific Inn and it was amazing! The "room" is really a one bedroom apartment. It has a very generous kitchen that is pre-stocked with basic cooking utensils, pots, pans, cooking oil, and seasoning (salt & pepper). The room had a stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer (they weren't working during our stay), teapot, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and full fridge. Other than the kitchen there is also a dining area with a table and 4 chairs and a living room with an electric fireplace. I was really excited about the fireplace! In the living room you have a big couch and a lazy boy, there was also a TV but we didn't even turn it on because there were so many cool things to do around the area! Also in the living room is a sliding glass door that leads out to the back of the building where you get your own parking spot. You then have a bedroom with a queen size bed, full closet, dresser and another TV. Finally you have the bathroom which was very clean and tasteful. There was a full tub and a tall shower combo, toilet and sink. The entire room was very clean and cozy. The furniture they had complemented the space nicely and made the room feel very cozy and gave an "at-home" feel. Another nice perk to the room is that they give you the keys to the room for the front door and the sliding glass back door. So you have two private entrances into the room. The office ladies were very nice and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. 10/10 Would recommend and will be...
