This is more for locals or place to bring the kids for a short period of fun. The public restrooms are inland so if you get out to sea side you better be in good shape to make it back to porta-potti for relief. It does have a great stretch of beach that comes inland up big river to allow something for everyone even a state bath room made of cinder block and a hole in the ground you know what I'm saying but it beats the bush anyway. The people are cool and friendly have a grip on life and can have a conversation with anyone outside the main stream I think down to earth but I don't know nothing. Read moreThis beach turned out to be the savior of the day for our beach day of our trip. The variety of chilling near Big River or near the Pacific was fantastic and we did both. The sand was nice and smooth, not very rocky at all. The water near the river shore was pretty gentle and the kids were able to do some wading (although I don’t know how far the sand goes till the drop off so we only allowed them to go ankle deep). The water at the ocean shore was pretty turbulent though so we didn’t wade there. There was however a ton of sand fleas hopping around eating a ton of small dead crustaceans all along the shore.
