The Waiting Room — Restaurant in Fort Bragg

Mendocino has many small cafes but this was a lovely hidden gem. Despite the size, it has a number of tables for groups inside and seating outside behind. They offer a wide variety of handmade pastries such as Corn Poblano Cheese scones and a Blackberry Almond Gallete as well assorted bagels and croissants. My personal favorite was their almond croissant which had pieces of fruit it in it, so good! For drinks, they don’t offer drip coffee but do offer a good selection such as cortados, americanos and chai lattes. I had a vanilla latte with oat milk which is their only alternative milk but man was the drink good! The vanilla had a maple like earthiness to it that was just delicious. A cozy coffee shop with great interior representing an old house. Their service is great and they have enough place to host 20+ people at a time. We tried their matcha latte, croissants, cappuccino, and latte. I have to say they were amazing. I got the matcha and it was too good. Usually people tend to mess with matcha ending up with a bitter drink. They had a perfect balance and I loved it and the croissants were fresh, buttery, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. My family was pleased with the coffee as well. They said their coffee blend was perfect and refreshing. They have restroom access and minimum parking space. Espresso and matcha drinks are okay. Wouldn't rate them as amazing. They have a couple of board games too. Update: We went again late in the afternoon for a latte and beers. It was an amazing experience. Latte was creamy and delicious. They have a good selection of different types of beer from CA local brewries. We ordered the hazy IPA from Santa Cruz and Firestone stout from Paso Robles. Stout had just a hint of bitterness (chocolate) with tasty notes of vanilla. The night got better when their DJ started playing great mixes of funk music. He usually comes once a month on Fri/Sat. He's fun to talk to and really enjoys what he does.
