We stayed here right after Christmas, which is not too busy a time in Mendocino. We got the West room which is downstairs, so it had the issue of being a little noisy from the upstairs folks when they walked around. But this didn't really bother us. Other than that the room was charming and the bed was comfortable. It was chilly out so I appreciated the space heater in our room. Every morning at 8:30a a basket arrives with scones and butter and fresh coffee or tea and juice. (They ask you when you check in what you want!). The location was great, as it was just a short walk to the beach and the main shopping streets. (The town is small, everything is close by). Across the street is the Alegria, their sister B&B where you can walk down a path to the beach. The path was closed due to a fallen tree when we were there but I expect it will be fixed shortly. There is also a hot tub at the Alegria, but that was out of order, also to be fixed shortly. I would much rather stay in town at a quaint place like this than a big expensive hotel a few miles...
Read moreFrom the welcome basket with a bottle of wine, crackers and cheese and a handwritten note from the owners Eric and Elaine, everything was perfect ....I would definitely recommend getting the fireplace room which has lots of space and a nice porch..Each morning a basket of fresh baked muffins and juice and coffee was delivered to our room...Really a special place..Across the street they also own the Algiers which is fantastic with a walkway right down to the beach with a garden to sit and relax also..|| Cookies and fresh lemon bars were there for the taking each day in the lobby of the Algiers..||Mendocino is just a beautiful place to visit and I would recommend it to anyone...I would make time to sit in the garden behind the Algiers and relax for a few hours..||There is a place for guests to order a full breakfast at the Algiers if they prefer more than muffins...
Read moreWe stayed in Raku House for 4 nights and tremendously enjoyed every aspect of our stay! Fireplace is a two-room suite with 1.5 bathrooms. The bed was super-comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace and every day the firewood was provided. ||One day we got groceries on local farmers market and had dinner in the room - we had great time and the room had lots of very handy kitchen supplies. ||The location is very convenient, you can walk to everything in town. Even though the fireplace room faces the street, the traffic is very light.||||The B&B keepers, Eric and Elaine are the most caring, friendly and professional people. They were very responsive to all our needs and provide the most delicious food! Elaine is a fabulous cook - I would come back just to have more of her amazing lemon bars! :) We highly...
