This is nice stadium! On campus the way it should be. About 99% of D1 College football stadium are ON campus. If you don't like that.....don't live in a college town. Seeing people with one star reviews because they liked the old "Ash Tray" Hughes Stadium!!??? seriously???

They never RISKED their lives riding their bike to that stadium. my car was always broke and roommates were early rises and headed to the stadium to start drinking when the "lots" opened and ditched me every time! those 12:00 pm games (I hated those!). I'd nearly lose my life on W Prospect on the way to Hughes, in that Two lane Traffic on a on lane road, leaving no shoulder for bikes!!! I peddled through the traffic jam of already drunk students and families making the 5 mph journey to the tailgate in the dirt parking lots! Errrr.....mud, if it rained or snowed the day before. A friend had a truck and after that Snow game and Beat DOWN on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes( 97' ?) we spent the afternoon looking for girls stuck in the mud and snow to tow them out of the parking lot and get phone numbers! Ahhhh the good o'l days. I suppose I should give this Canvas stadium one star because of the nostalgia of drunk driving to and from the stadium miles from the campus! Yayyyy! Great idea!!! the nostalgia of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic at 1:30 am coming back from those ESPN Thursday night games, and of course I always had that 9:00am M,W,F class (economics or statistics :( And it's one way in and one way out! "well be in bed by 3:00 am". I'll never forget seeing the students carrying the goal posts walking by everyone stuck in traffic after that Wyoming game in 94'!!!! They got to the pond before anyone made it back!

Yeah...all those cars stuck in traffic for an hour or two emitting CO2 in the atmosphere as 10,000 students and another 20,000 of other folks make the journey back to campus or town after sold out games. Such an economically and ecologically sustainable concept O'l Hughes was! Tailgating? make sure to pack EVERYTHING because there's no stores, bars, liquor, food, within walking, distance. Your best bet was to climb the wall to the Reservoir and maybe you'll catch something! parents always made sure the kids dressed in layers in late Oct and Nov. because that stadium was a perfect wind tunnel, against the foothills which act as a wind guide to make sure those Northern Arctic Blasts from Wyoming would blow through that North open end and perfectly swirl around and make everyone miserable!

How dare the University and athletic department get with the program and become like EVERY OTHER major university and put a stadium on their campus near restaurants, hotels and liquor stores. I'm sure the owners of these establishments' miss Hughes as well....30,000 people LEAVING the business/retail parts of town to go to a stadium miles from businesses. STUPID!

CAnvas Stadium is WAY nicer than many non power 5 universities. I've been to Tulane's new stadium (one of the last in the south that didnt have one on campus) for example and its like a bleacher stadium compared to Canvas. I've seen University of Houston's, not impressed!

Canvas has concessions issues and personnel deficiencies. And if you want to complain about that, fine, I'm with you. But that has nothing to do with the construction and built in amenities, club seating, boxes, bars and the New Belgium Porch is like the "signature" stamp of our culture and pride of beer, its really cool!!!! But with that said The University needs to get better vending, food and more efficient beer serving. The lines are ridiculous...,but it was that way with Hughes too....and don't get me starting on Hughes bathrooms....YIKES! at least these toilets flush (through pipes) and the troughs aren't leaking! GROSS!!!! And the bathroom floors aren't skating rinks during snow games!!!!!! ...

Bring earplugs! SO LOUD. The stadium is beautiful and professional but the jarring 5 second clips of music and fireworks and CANNONS (at touchdowns, which were mercifully infrequent) are extremely disturbing. Then they thought it would be cool to blast a train horn sound effect every opponent’s 3rd down. Totally not post-trauma friendly. I thought half of everyone under 30 was on a spectrum? Wish we could just hear a marching band and 5,000 drunk college students screaming, but I guess that isn’t loud enough? Not sure who they’re catering to. The announcing was frustrating, almost zero replays. I guess you can build a professional stadium but it doesn’t mean the announcing or playing will be professional-quality. And I could get past that if the experience wasn’t intentionally traumatic. Bring earplugs or stay away if you...

Beautiful new stadium on CSU campus. As of 2018 season, clear bag policy in effect with no outside food or drink allowed. An empty, disposable water bottle was allowed, but I could not find a single functioning water fountain.

Our game was on a cold day, and the benches were covered with ice. Not even the band's seats were cleared, not sure if that makes me feel better or worse! Bring a blanket :). The game's audio broadcast was played in the nice, warm restrooms-the only place to warm up besides the merchandise store.

Friendly and plentiful workers, screening for entrance was well staffed and quick.

We parked in a pay lot about 5 blocks from the stadium, many of the nearby lots are permit...

GREAT stadium experience! I've enjoyed everything from football games to business events here. Each has been a wonderful reflection on good site-planning, execution, and staffing. My main concern with an on-campus stadium was parking and traffic. That said, we attended the opening game at the stadium and were able to leave our parking lot in one light cycle. Once on the road there were no delays. We were very impressed and have been with each visit. The site is nostalgic, the views are excellent, and the food is better than you'd expect at a sporting event. Glad to have the new stadium but we'll always have a place for Hughes Stadium in our hearts!
