Update: So. We tried again today. Thinking maybe the last time was just a bad order. Wrong this one is also a FAIL. Again. Tortas are BURNED. Again, no salsa and we ordered churros that is advertised as 6 pieces & we got 4. What is the problem?? This was our go to place for tacos n tortas. Why is it so bad now? What has changed? As customers we are spending our good money for a service and edible food. We pay extra to use the delivery apps to support your business and help keep doors open. This is not ok. I took pics if you’d like to see them. Honestly something needs to change. Get back to the good food. This isn’t it.
Former review: We placed 2 orders in 1 day and both were screwed up. We ordered 5 lengua tacos and 4 barbacoa & no cilantro. We specifically requested aguacate salsa & they didn’t include that either. (The tacos had cilantro, it looked like they picked it off after realizing it was a no cilantro request) Anyway, Our 1st order arrived, it wasn’t ours. It was for some one named Victor who had cocktail de camaron & asada Chile aquiles. So I’m sure he’s missing his order. We really wanted tacos so I tried a second time 1hr later and we got the order. But it was the old and very cold original order. I know this because the receipt reflected the time of the 1st order. Who lets an old cold order leave the restaurant? Who is responsible for making sure orders are fresh and not just sitting there getting old? This is NOT ok. We are very disappointed. Last week it was all so good. That’s the reason we order again. Corn tortillas don’t reheat well and the meat was no longer good or safe to eat. We spent a lot of money on delivery and fees and tips and charges for food. All for nothing. The restaurant does not answer the phone. It’s off the hook, you get a busy signal the entire day. We tried calling...
Read moreI have moved away from FC but I used to come here regularly and want to give a positive review since I just remembered how much I liked this place. I’m from Texas, raised in NM, and Hispanic. As far as sit down, not-hole-in-the-wall, Mexican food, this is the best in Fort Collins I found. Every other place in that category I had in FC was honestly bad/mid, but this place is the bomb (the nearby Mexican grocery/bakery you’d go to on a lunch break for a quick bite is really good too). If you want a nice sit down Mexican experience in FC, good for date nights, dining out with the family, a relaxing meal after travel, and stuff like that, you’ll love this place. Look no further.
I’m a queso fundido/flameado addict. It’s good here. I often just got it as my meal. Sure, it’s just meat, cheese, and tortillas/chips, but… what else do you need? Lol!
Smothered burritos? Good here.
Tortas? Good here.
My wife, a FC native, is now a taco addict - she likes them here (she used to not like Mexican food until she met me since she went to another place I won’t name that doesn’t hold a candle to this place — and I took her here and now she likes Mexican food lol). I like the Birria tacos
Queso/guac/chips/tortillas are all good here.
Service was also good here. They started to recognize me; Alejandra/Alex I think her name was (no idea if she’s still there) even ended up remembering my orders and was always great. If I didn’t show up for a while, the guy at the front commented on it and asked how I was doing. Food was always fast and servers friendly.
I like their remodel they did during COVID too. Nice mural on the wall, clean store, it’s nice.
So… yeah. Go here. Full endorsement. I’ll be back...
Read moreI have been eating at Los Comales in Fort Collins since they opened. I noticed a few years ago as I sat in the corner hi-top watching all the action that occasionally a person who appeared homeless would walk in and chat with one of the hostess people and sit. A few minutes later food would come out for him. Sometimes they would eat there sometimes they would put the food in their backpack and leave.. I have seen this more times with different staff and different homeless people than I can remember. They treat everyone equally. The owners of this place taught there kids to care about people and they pass that along to the community. This is not a fancy place and there food while consistent is good it's not the most important thing... it's the people that work there that make this place special. Their sense of community and the culture they have developed there to look out for others is great and humbling. They are putting positive vibes back into the community everyday. Thank you team Comales!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have been there on several occasions ordering tacos recently. Specifically the carne asada tacos. They have great flavor. The portions are plentiful and everything is fresh including the corn tortillas. The fresh salsabar is a good compliment to the experience. We have also tried their El pastor tacos and they are also very good. Many years ago they used to make their fajitas with a melted cheese and bacon on top my only regret is that they stop doing that. Service was a little slow but I think they are dealing with the same staffing issues as everybody else.. The most important thing is that the food itself is fresh, consistent and very...
