I was excited to see another all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant open in this city; however, I will say Sushi Izumi isn’t the worst I’ve ever had, but it also isn’t the best. The pros? This restaurant is newly renovated and opened, taking over Mi Sushi/K-Food, so everything interior-wise looks modern and inviting. The takoyaki and baked mussels were delicious as well, and the fish used for the nigiri were bright and smelled clean, indicating fresh fish used…. which leads me into the con. My main gripe is the fish-to-rice ratio. I ordered 3 orders each of unagi nigiri, maguro nigiri, hamachi nigiri, and sake nigiri, and on each piece was a HUGE mound of shari (sushi rice) underneath, especially with the tuna nigiri. While I’m no sushi chef, my years of experience working at a sushi restaurant and shadowing sushi chefs in Las Vegas, NV taught me that the fish should be proportionate to the shari to create a balanced bite. By the time I finished my nigiri, I had no appetite to eat my rolls. Had I known the fish-to-rice ratio would be as high as it is, I would've ordered less nigiri and no special rolls at all. I ended up paying $48 for premium AYCE to eat nigiri and waste most of the rolls, as it tasted like nothing after I ate rice for appetizer, entree, and dessert. Keeping this fish-to-rice ratio in mind, as well as the price charged ($35 for basic AYCE and $48 for premium AYCE), I likely will not return to Sushi Izumi as it's not worth the money. I attached pictures to this review. I invite you to please look at everything for yourself.

I really like their new setup. the walls between booths really make it feel like a private dining experience. you can tell that it hasn't been open long and that the service staff is new but they have really good hearts and are trying really hard. when we were there it was pretty empty so didn't have any trouble getting service. we got a green onion pancake and it was very eggy texture and the vegetables were not cut up finally. other green onion pancakes that I have had the green onion is either cooked longer or Incorporated better into the batter... it also included jalapenos and other veggies which weren't listed on the menu which might be an issue if you have allergies. from my experience, I wouldn't order it again. the fried chicken took 20? to 30? minutes to come out after we ordered it. the wait staff let us know that and it was not a bad wait with good company and the private table experience! the chairs were comfortable and we never felt crowded with the walls there either. we got the half and half chicken and it was primarily drumsticks with also a few thighs included, half plain and half sauced. my favorite was the sauced. it was not spicy but had good flavor. the plain I ended up dipping in soy sauce as I felt it needed more salt. yeah people had two drumsticks and one thigh left over.

PREVIOUSLY- BlueFin I don’t even know where to begin, I’ve been going here for 6+ years and I can wholeheartedly say I’ve never had better sushi. The fish is high quality fish that’s been imported into the US. The owner himself drives down to receive the shipments, he’s an amazing guy. Beautiful technique, made with love (literally) you can tell this is his passion. And his wife is an AMAZING woman. Everytime I come in she is sooo happy see us, recognizes us every time. She even remembers our puppy family and is so happy we come all the way out of state to see her. I can not preach how incredible this woman is. They are absolutely thriving and I love it!! EAT HERE!! Must haves are the Ginger salad, Miso soup and Philadelphia roll, phenomenal. We appreciate everything you do for us! If I could give 10 stars I would ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

DO NOT SUPPORT- DISCRIMINATORY MANAGER! Go to Sushi Fi instead. At 2pm, my family showed up to the restaurant and asked for a table with my service dog. We were originally asked if we wanted to sit outside and we declined due to it being cold and we have a 2 year old. The manager, Ricky, then came up and informed us that we would not be allowed to sit inside with an animal. My service dog was properly marked with a vest indicating he is a service animal and we explained this to him but he still refused to seat us, citing that there could be people with allergies. We have dined at many different establishments and never encountered such treatment. My service dog was well- behaved and sitting at my side as we waited and his behavior was not the manager's reason for refusal. I will be submitting a report to the DOJ about this incident. We went to Sushi Fi across town and had a great time!

Regarding the response from the restaurant- while I appreciate the apology, that is an inaccurate description of what happened. We saw that there was not a table large enough to accommodate our party and we stated that we would be happy to wait and asked the server how long it would be. That is when the manager came to talk to us and told us that we would only be allowed to sit on the patio since we had a service animal. My husband specifically asked if we were being refused service due to having a service animal and were told that we could only eat outside due to the possibility that some people may be allergic to him. That's when we asked for the gentleman's name and if he was the manager because we would be filing a complaint. There was no...
