Bamboo Wellness 1 — Attraction in Fort Lauderdale

Do NOT go to this establishment. 0/10 stars. 100% would NOT recommend. I called on a Saturday when they opened and asked if they had a couples massage available for the day. They asked what time I would like to come in and I said 2pm. They asked if we could do 1:15 instead and I said sure. I was speaking to the manager/owner. We get there and there’s another couple waiting for the same room we had booked. They said we are going to put the other couple into the couples massage room and you all into separate rooms because it is very busy. (First red flag because why would you change us that had an appointment?) We said that is fine and we had separate rooms as a massage. Second red flag was entering the room (picture below) was in a shower basically. Tiny room with a shower in it and the massage table extended into the shower. By that point I was done. I then was like maybe this will be a good massage, it had good reviews and maybe they just ran out of space and tried to accommodate us the best they could. I went to lay down and noticed hair and makeup on the sheet…. obviously not mine….. THEY HAD NOT CLEANED THE BED!!!!!. (Third red flag). I get dressed, annoyed and come out and tell the Massuse. She proceeds to tell the owner/manager. I say to the owner, “I’m not going to get a massage anymore. The space wasn’t cleaned and I am fine with leaving.” She insisted for me too. I said “no I’m good I’ll just get my boyfriend and we will leave.” She says “no don’t leave” and I say “we are fine thank you.” She then says “I’ll do it half off, yours will be no charge.” Then of course my interest was peaked and I said “fine.” Proceed to get the massage. (It was honestly a 5/10 massage. Even if none of this would’ve happened, I wouldn’t go back.) When we go to check out, the owner then says “I said I’ll give you aromatherapy free not the massage.” I told her “no that is not what you said. Because if that was the case I wouldn’t have gotten the massage at all.” I was over it and on vacation, so we just paid and tipped the masseuses (as none of this was their fault) but karma sucks and I hope people read this review and NEVER give this business...

This is the best massage I have had in Fort Lauderdale. It is also the best value massage I have had in Fort Lauderdale. The facility was safe and clean. The communication and customer service was prompt and professional. The massage therapist was technically expert and delivered an excellent, deep tissue massage. I am a military veteran with some chronic issues, so I get frequent massage to deal with pain. I am also a sailor and have been getting this sailboat ready for Isaias, so I was really sore. I actually got a decent massage at a different business just two days ago, but it did not do the trick. I was still very sore and suffering from limited range of motion. My friend recommended Bamboo Wellness as "the place to go". I decided to try it, and I am so glad I did. Here is why Bamboo Wellness delivered an amazing massage, as opposed to just a decent massage. Communication. When I got there, I was able to mark where I needed focus on an anatomical chart. This chart is given to the massage therapist. The massage therapist confirmed that information that I marked on the form and also asked me about it, so that she knew where to focus. She also listened to me during the massage and increased intensity or moved the pressure point slightly to adjust to me. Skill. The person was an expert. She provided a thorough, professional, focused massage. She was strong enough to deliver a real, deep tissue massage and relieve the pain. Legitimate. I kind of hate that I think this should be specified, but in some facilities, they do the massage as a means to offer "other services". This is not the case here, and it was pretty clear that it was not the case. This let me relax and get the most out of the massage without worrying about an awkward moment. Value. I have paid more for worse massages. I started with an hour massage and extended it to a 90 minute massage. Best massage. Competitive price. That says great value to me. I would recommend Bamboo Wellness to anyone, especially if you have some pain that needs to feel...

I must say the massage was great and I was planning on patronizing this establishment again as it was my first time, my issue was with the receptionist demanding a cash tip of 15% to 20% or more and stating that this other customer seated just tipped $20 and also that the ladies only work off of tips. I paid $76 for a 60min. massage and you telling me what I should give as a tip is a terrible business practice as I am a licensed hairstylist and my price is my price, I don't bank on tips a tip is a bonus be whatever the amount is I graciously accept it. My friend was gonna tip from her card but was asked for a cash tip and when she gave $5 tip she was made to feel as if it wasn't sufficient. What are you running a an assembly line massage factory and pay your workers poorly so you extort tips form your customers saying that how they get paid, that's terrible, I've never felt so unappreciated as a customer so I will never come back or refer anyone to this place ever. I'll be sure my friend leaves a review as well on Yelp and Google. Learn to appreciate your customers whether they're big tippers or not as they still paid for service. Shame on you! Greedy receptionist so who gets all the money for the service they perform if tips is all they work for! Terrible. Be careful how you treat your customers for future reference I don't care what area you're located in everyone doesn't tip the same you set a price for services performed not on tips!

You pay your employees poorly and bank on tips. I don't have to tip at all if I don't want too.. and if my client doesn't tip it's fine by me as they paid for my service, makes me wonder if they are even licensed massage therapists if you state all the get is tips. You have a terrible attitude as well for all your potential customers to see. So if you want to get charged for a massage and then charged for a tip please feel free to check this tip hungry establishment out....out of all my years I have never and will never...extort gratuity from my clients again...
