UPDATE: Well, for years the 8 has been telling me they were going to update the seats. Here we are, four years later, and they've done it. Or so I've heard. I'll be stopping by this weekend to see. Fingers crossed.
I went in tonight to see all the updates I've been reading/hearing about. The place looks great! The lobby is clean and well lit, lots of games, the staff was super friendly. Prices were fair, popcorn was fresh. Restrooms were clean and well stocked.
The theater was clean with good lighting, the picture quality was great, sound was great. You could tell that a lot of time and effort went into the equipment. Everything was great...
BUTT for the seats. (pun intended, with tongue firmly in cheek. Get it? Moving on) If the seat cushions are more that 12 inches wide I'd be surprised. The armrests have cup holders built into them, but they don't raise up so they dig into your side. The seats don't move. At. all. Now I admit that I'm a big guy, but now-a-days, I'm not that much bigger than most people. I'm sure they're fine for kids but most adults... I don't think so.
Half way though the movie my back started to hurt and by the end it felt like my hips had gone numb. I'm afraid that I won't be going back until they switch out the seats.
I could see this becoming, (at least for me and my family), a favorite go to place. They actually listen to you and let you help choose what movies will be coming to play there. You don't see AMC or Regal doing that. They have a lot of contests and special offers. It's really a shame, everything else is so perfect, so professional.
But what good does all of that do if you...
Read moreHonest Review: This place is not a premium theatre and we knew that going but it had the time we needed for the showing.
The positive side of this review is that the ticket prices were good and the young man working the box office had a great personality. Lots of video games for kids to play. Thatâs why we gave this 2 stars.
There were some other downsides to this place (listed at the end) but what took the cake was that my wife went to the womenâs restroom and all stalls were locked and zip tied except one. That one stall was occupied by a woman who had been anxiously waiting for someone to come in and give her toilet paper. âThank God you came in, Iâve been waiting for someone to help meâ She was older and couldnât reach. My wife had to crawl to reach up and grab toilet paper from an adjacent locked stall to help this lady out.
She then had to do the same for herself before going to the bathroom.
I hate leaving bad reviews⌠I typically donât do it but this kind of ruined our evening. Nobody likes crawling on a public bathroom floor even if itâs for a good cause. My advice is pay the extra 4 dollars and go to a theatre that cares a little more about their customer experience.
Reclining chairs are horrible Pop corn was cold Soda had a stale musty taste like they have not cleaned their lines in ages the overall theme for this theatre is dirty staff is mainly kids teenagers just socializing the entire time (this isnât a huge deal for us but may be for someone else thinking about going).
On a scale of worst establishments in America to Ritz Carlton this place would fall somewhere...
Read moreI have had good experiences here at Edison Park 8 cinemas. It's e enomical and you get to watch a new release. My 3 star rating is do to two previous experiences that were not too great. First bad experience was at a 10o'clock movie. I have two kids and the popcorn went down fast. So I went back for a refill at around 10:20. The popcorn stand was clean as a whistle. I mean. Come on, what's going on here. Not even 10:30 and no more popcorn. This was a 2 hr movie and if you're like me and my kids, if we're in the theater we need popcorn. I was very disappointed. So I got over it and went on a different date. Recently actually, on 5/6/2016. I went with kids to watch the jungle book. Great movie by the way. Payed for the 3D movie. So we sat at middle row of theater. Eating popcorn of course while the movie started. I think their popcorn is great by the way. Once the movie stared I noticed that it had a very dark screen. Also that it wasn't really 3D. Kinda 3D but it didn't show the effect much at all. So I told the kids and wife let's try a closer seat. We moved up about 5 rows closer and it helped. It look a bit better on the 3D effects. But still was dark and not quite the 3D I'm used to seeing on a theater. Even at this same theather. I was disappointed once again. I understand the prices are low and that you can't expect to get the same as the epensive theathers. But its also not free. So come guys, It's customers like me who keep coming back you want to take care of. Let's make sure the screen quality is what we're paying for and bring on...
