Decided to stop here on our way home from visit family a bit further south and I should have just kept driving. I called in the AM to check availability and the gentleman that answered the phone was very "gruff" and kinda rude. I didn't think to much of it at first. When checking in he did not have very good communication or people skills. Realized later he was the CAPTAIN and that phone is his cell phone that he takes on all tours to answer even while on tour. No one on the boat was wearing a mask including the Captain and 1st Mate. As the tour started he mentioned very very little about the area or wildlife or anything else. When he did say something he was very hard to understand. We saw 1 dolphin that peaked it's head up a couple times but that was ALL we saw the entire 2hrs. A few Anhinga's and Pelicans in some nests but no other wildlife. It was a very quiet 2hr ride in circles around the river. I understand that wildlife isn't always present but a little history or info or communication would have made the trip more enjoyable. It was certainly not worth the money or my time wasted when I could have gone further up the road to a few other options. My advice, look further for a good tour. You get what...
Read moreThat boat tour was good, the Captain "Chop" was pretty informative about the marine environment in the area. The head flush needs fixed, no water for it. Saw a few manatees, dolphin and some turtles. I read the one-star reviews and have this to say; Chop cannot control the life you will see in nature, Chop had a new boat built and she is really nice, holds lots of passengers. One other note, saw the video on the website, if the people in Florida hope to save the ecosystem there so manatees and other life quit dying in high numbers, you need to vote in some politicians who care about it. It's obvious the politicians currently running the state are not going to fund too much environmentally as evidenced by the EPA restrictions that were lifted during the last presidents term. Vote differently if you want to save the...
Read moreCaptain failed to yield to our kayak today. When he finally did stop, and his onboard clients started standing up to point us out, he got on his loud speaker and told us we should not stop in the channel. What should have happened, was the captain should have yielded to the unpowered watercraft before him rather than trying to push through. There are no exceptions to this rule of nautical navigation. You were a bully out on the water today sir, and you made it worse by trying to pull the "you stopped in the channel" comment. If you're still not sure of how the navigation rules work, please look them up for a review before your next...
