In the unlikely yet most grievous event of an apocalypse, I once swore upon my very soul to endure the trials of survival, I wouldst face each challenge, doing whatever was required to endure. Yet, a most insurmountable tribulation hath now befallen me: the untimely demise of my beloved Burrito Del Sol. It is no mere humble tavern, but a sanctuary of comfort, familiarity, and delight for the senses. At the very summit of its offerings stands the Chipotle Tempeh Tacos, a dish so wondrous and utterly mind-blowing, it seemed a divine gift from the heavens themselves. The marriage of smoky chipotle, masterfully seared tempeh, and the perfect balance of flavor—earthy, spicy and with just the right touch of sweetness—was an experience to behold, an elixir for the soul that could bring even the most burnt out individual back to life. 'Twas not just nourishment for the body, but a banquet for the spirit, a reminder that even in a world beset with darkness, there could still be light, still be joy. Therefore, if in its absence, I find myself bereft, with little more than sorrow to carry forth. For if this simple yet transcendent joy be stripped from the world, what purpose remains? To struggle through the wasteland without such a treasure seems an exercise in futility. And so, even if not the end of the world, simply moving away from my sacred Burrito Del Sol poses innivetiable life-long regret. Deep down, I stay local to stay close to our last piece of heaven on Earth. If you are a wanderer in the lands of Fort Walton Beach and Destin, heed this: to miss the glory of this culinary treasure is a regret that will haunt...
Read moreToday was my 3rd visit. The first time you come here the ordering can seem overwhelming, but once you understand the flow of the menu, it's easier. Both my previous visits were okay, the food was decent but nothing amazing. I saw a coworker's steak taco salad on Friday and it looked amazing, so I went today to get one. I didn't realize they closed at 3pm on Sundays so I mistakenly went 15 minutes before closed (I don't like to be that person). Anyway, I got home with my food and the steak in my taco salad was more like beef jerky. Also, a couple received their to go order, but they had also ordered chips and queso which wasn't in the bag. The employee came back out with just queso. The employee at the register said she only had rang up queso, not with chips. After the employee walked away the couple wondered how that happened, one of them said it was fine and they left. The employees could have offered to ring up the price of the chips or apologized for the confusion and just given the couple the chips. They obviously didn't care, and they missed an important customer service moment. Overall based on today's visit, I would've given them one star, but I had mostly positive experiences previously. It's definitely moved down to the bottom of my...
Read moreI’m From LA, now living in GA for 10 yrs.So this food reminds me of a California vibe Mexican food. So me and my son had the beef burrito sw flavor and my daughter had the chicken nachos de flavor. Me and my son who is 13 came in with a negative mind. Me because of the indoor decor and my sob because he doesn’t like née things. Well just seen his face on the first bite was a smile to my face so I had to try and boy does the beef itself has a wonderful flavor. I have no clue what they put in it (maybe crack) but boy was the flavor on point. We both enjoyed the burrito. It was filling and bomb. My daughter loved her chicken nachos she said it was full of flavor and definitely enjoy her meal. We were in ft Walton for 3 day and came twice and also went to our regular Mexican joint pepitos but the flavor of the nachos and burrito was waaaaaaay better at del sol. If they added guacamole at del sol my daughter probably would of been blow away😂. Definitely will be my go to place when we come and visit Destin or Ft Walton. Try it once and you won’t be...
