Made a reservation for 2 — note that there is likely to still be a wait even if the restaurant is less than half full on a Friday night. The hostess did say our table was ready, so I was confused about why we had to wait an additional 10 minutes, (my best guess is that it’s probably due to the number of staff, their position, and their experience in handling multiple tables— we had three different staff attend our table throughout dinner).

I did not appreciate that when the hostess brought us to our table, she tossed the menus onto the grill and walked away without a word.

See photos for the types of banchan available- no refills on those.

If I remember correctly, they have radish & lettuce wrap available (but not rice noodle). I did not ask for other sauces (eg, ssamjang, doenjang, gochujang) so not sure they are available upon request.

The premium course ($60) is enough food for one person, but definitely order an additional dish if you plan to share! Each meat selection is 2oz (3pc), except the marinated galbi which is only 1pc. The meat is very good quality.

The egg soufflé (계란찜) had a really good texture, was not burned, and it balanced out the saltiness of the bossam (pork shoulder).

We ordered two additional dishes:

  1. The cold noodles (mul naengmyeon / 물 냉면) was absolutely delicious! It is not spicy and does not have gochujang in it. Would definitely order that again. 5/5

  2. Sadly, the japchae (sweet potato noodles with veggies) was not it. Seemed like it was missing soy sauce & sesame oil; the flavoring & coloring was very off (not in a rancid way, but in a “this is not how japchae is made” way). 1/5

I don’t drink, but they recently added Sapporo on draft

Michael was our server and he had a great service personality! It was our first time here and he explained the dishes clearly and concisely. He was knowledgeable about what the restaurant had available and offered excellent...

I would have loved to rate the food here. I tried dining here on a Sunday at 12:30, the host was great, I would have been glad to try any of the recommended options as the prices were not discouraging. We never made it that far, our waitress was one of the most rude wait staff I have EVER encountered. It is not often that I feel that I have to remove myself completely from a restaurant, I try to make the best of things usually as I’ve lived here for several years and I understand how fundamental the service industry is to this area, I’m typically happy to partake. This was unbearable. We were the only 2 in the restaurant besides a couple people at the bar. This was our first visit and we were trying to get a feel for which items are popular or what was recommended by our waitress. She was short and dismissive. I felt as though I was holding up her side work or causing an inconvenience. She seemed overall not interested in helping us navigate the menu and even when we tried to order she asked if we were sure we wanted to stay? I tried reading reviews to understand of this has happened to anyone else but it seems most reviews are from dinner service. To clarify I was not unsure that I wanted to dine there. I love kbbq and it was recommended to us by one of our most beloved waitresses at soi bistro. It seems as though maybe the gratuity that I’ve read about in some of the reviews maybe affects the service provided. I am not discouraged by a gratuity, in fact, I often tip 30-50% as I visit the same spots regularly. This was horrible. I have never been treated so poorly at any place...

This is HANDS DOWN the best Korean BBQ I've had in all of Florida! I'm married to a Korean who used to live by NYC, so that's saying A LOT. We live in Orlando, and so we were a bit concerned if this place would live up to the standards we already have for food. First of all, the interior of this place is very modern, elevated and clean. Dim lighting sets a great tone for a happy dining experience here. We had the wagyu nigiri to start, which was truly delightful. We chose the prime bbq option and had some of the best quality meat I've seen outside of my own butchershop. It made all the difference in overall taste and texture, melting away in our mouths piece by piece. We also got kimchi jiggae with beef instead of pork because of dietary restrictions, and it was absolute FIRE. I was pleasantly surprised they were able to accomodate that as most restaurants won't. Everything was just amazing. The staff was so knowledgeable and helped us choose the best side dishes like the jjamppong risotto (insert chef's kiss!). I could easily eat that as a main dish because it was BEYOND delicious. Even dessert blew me away. We went with our toddler, by the way, who is a little menace in restaurants, and she ate right alongside us! It was truly the best dine-in we've had in Destin so far. We are planning on going back again before we leave, because it...

I really wanted to love Sura: the promising bar with its already-fantastic cocktail selection (the Impearfect Perilla is a standout); the décor is stunningly modern and thus unlike anything else in the Fort Walton Beach area; and the service is, perhaps as a function of its design, great. The stews and side dishes are especially flavorful and really showcase the kitchen's know-how with Korean food. However, the meats themselves (save for the bulgogi) are completely void of any elements of Korean cuisine, and the dining format is nothing short of bizarre, as it both lacks the fun spectacle of something like hibachi (it is, in fact, tedious and quite awkward to sit and watch your server silently cook on your behalf) and robs patrons of the relaxed and communal essence of a true Korean BBQ experience. Sura offers an Americanized and out-of-touch approximation that I can only assume is an attempt to cater to a more "local" demographic whom may be put off by the prospect of having to cook their own dinner at a restaurant. While I understand that preference, surely there's room to also provide something more authentic for those seeking it, especially in a cultural desert like the Panhandle. (Barring all else though, I suggest turning the music volume down if you're going to insist on waitstaff hand-holding every person who walks in.)

I wanted to like the restaurant due to numerous excellent reviews. Sadly this is a tourist trap, over hyped and overpriced for what you are served. I made a reservation for 9 and showed up early. The Waitress took 20 minutes to greet us and take our drink order. I ordered the choice course and my companion ordered the premium course. It had taken 45 minutes to acquire the food and did not receive utensils until 10 minutes into our meal regardless of the numerous times I had asked for them. Each course came with sides and an egg souffle. The sides were barely enough for one person, the portions of meat given was laughable for the price you pay($50-$100 per person). Each meat served was supposed to be 2oz, for one person the meat combined was maybe 3 oz instead of the 8 you’re supposed to be served. In the photo below, that was both of our orders which was ridiculous, barely 6 oz combined on the plate. My companion did not receive her egg soufflé, the waitress informed us that we did not each get one due to the owner not wanting to waste food even though the menu listed each person getting one. We were left so hungry we ended up getting food elsewhere. DO NOT COME HERE if you expect to eat authentic Korean bbq, you’ll get ripped off, horrendous service and insipid food. -2/7
