This shopping center is the home of the nearest Walmart, and since I try to walk five miles a day, this is the perfect destination. If the interstate wasn't between us, we could literally see this shopping center. By following Pufferbelly Trail, the walk there and back gives me my day's workout and lets me bring back a few needed items. 30 years ago, when we moved to northcentral Fort Wayne, Coldwater Crossing was twice as big with several chains that have since left town. When half the center was empty, the center of the Plaza was torn down. Now, even more have left. Walmart is busy, as are the Dollar Tree and other small businesses scattered around the parking lot. Hobby Lobby seems to draw a crowd, although I stopped shopping there years ago. Rudae's Beauty College seems to draw students, and I hear the Mexican restaurant that replaced Metro Diner (why did they leave. It took them a year to remodel, and they were always packed!) which replaced Lone Star Steakhouse (which left shortly after a remodel) is pretty good, but we've never tried it. The part of the center that was torn down is now a large empty lot filled with discarded trash that needs cleaned up. Who is responsible? It should be the disgusting people who toss their trash all over the place with no consideration for the rest of us who have to look at it, but they are long gone. Maybe the center should hire to get it done. Maybe they could also throw out the vehicles parked in open lot who are obviously not using the center to shop. This Wal-Mart is a great place to...
Read moreThere's a variety of stores and large parking spaces, but there are quite a few issues with the area. I've been harassed by strangers while trying to reach my car after a trip to Walmart or Hobby Lobby and it seems there are always new potholes to maneuver around. Some of the lines and lane directions desperately need a new coat of paint as it can be difficult to make out where you are supposed to be in the road at times. There is also a stop sign which must have been replaced at least three times and some people still drive straight through it because of all the times the sign has...
Read moreThe theater needs to get a "Floater" for refills. It's ridiculous to stand in line Before your movie and then again if you need a refill. The poor confession workers are busting their butts. But the system is not efficient. Put someone as a floater, 2 people on popcorn, 2 on beverages, the rest as cashiers, etc. Would be much faster.
The seats are also starting to get pretty warn out. But they are still very comfy 🙂
Handicap door would be a bonus as well. My nephew is in a wheelchair and it can be a pain trying to get...
