I went into this restaurant around 4pm on a Sunday with two other people. Upon walking in we stopped at the "Please wait to be seated" sign and waited for nearly 5 minutes, making eye contact with at least 2 bartenders, before a woman in black leggings, a pink workout top, and hat breezed by and nonchalantly shouted "Oh hey guys you can just sit wherever" as she continued walking. I wasn't entirely sure if she was a server or just a customer on her way to a post-meal workout trying to save us the trouble of waiting to be seated by a non-existent hostess. We selected a table and sat down. Roughly 10 minutes later the same woman who had breezed by showed up at the table with 1 menu in hand. She introduced herself and immediately apologized for only having one menu and said she wasn't sure where the rest of them were but promised she'd be back with more before walking away. The three of us checked over the menu and decided what to order for cocktails, appetizer, and main course. When the server arrived back at our table we placed our order for cocktails (margarita and pear-mopolitan) and app (fried mushrooms) and she again apologized about the lack of menus and promised to get us more (she never did bring more menus). When she brought the cocktails to our table I realized that she had never asked me if I wanted my margarita rimmed as it arrived with salt. Preferring salt over sugar I was not upset about the choice only disappointed I wasn't asked. She then took our main course orders (Pub Burger cooked medium rare [she did ask for preferred temp], BLT, and Farmers Pizza). However before actually taking our orders she had to dig into her pocket where she pulled out a balled up receipt that she promptly unfolded and flattened on our table all the while apologizing and saying how completely unorganized and unprepared she was for the day. She proceeded to write our orders down haphazardly on this tiny, crumpled piece of paper. Shortly after she left our mushrooms arrived from the kitchen and were delivered by a unfamiliar gentleman in a black t-shirt. He set them down and gave us the customary "Enjoy!" before walking away. Those were some of the best fried mushrooms I have ever had. There was a generous number of them and they were all of considerable size. The horseradish sauce was a perfect accompaniment. My margarita was also delicious with the right amount of alcohol and my friends pear-tini was equally enjoyable. A few minutes after finishing the appetizer our server showed up and apologized for the delay on the mushrooms and said she wasn't sure what was taking so long but she would head right into the kitchen and find out where they were. After pointing to the empty plates and explaining to her that we'd already received and eaten the app she seemed elated that we'd received and enjoyed it and assured us our food would be out shortly. When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find that my burger and fries appeared to be exactly as pictured and smelled delicious. My friends pizza required a bit of table reorganization as it was brought out on a large wooden pizza peel that took up half the table. The server explained that they have a wire stand and tray for the pizza but it was stored "too high up" for her to reach and she didn't want to ask for help, so she instead brought out the peel. All of the mains were delicious, my burger was cooked to well done instead of my requested temp, but was so flavorful I didn't mind too much. The server was quick to bring and process our bills and I was grateful for that. Overall I'm conflicted about my visit, the food and drinks were superb but the service was so muddled that I'd think twice about coming back. During my visit I had a clear view of the entrance and watched no less than 7 individuals/couples stand at the "please wait to be seated" sign for anywhere from 2-7 minutes before deciding to seat themselves. I also understand that not all restaurants have dress codes and like to be casual but some kind of identifying marker for the staff...
Read moreI'm rating this based on food, service, and atmosphere. Burgers and Wings were good. Fries - not so good. We received an order of fries with a hair in it. They later told us it was a chicken feather and it was normal. First time I heard that. I told them they should be using a separate fryer for only fries. I also added that since the burgers and wings were pretty good to not serve frozen fries. I ordered Brussel sprouts and never received it. We ordered sliders with the fries (the one with the chicken feather in it) and had it returned. They took forever to re-make the order. So, one of us did not eat. We told the server to put it in box to take home. In kitchen 101, when you mess up an order (especially with chicken feather fries), your order should take priority. Servers - there were servers that just should not be servers. They looked depressed, mad, stressed out and just pretty much were downers. We ordered wings and like I said - they were good; however, it would be great if they gave you small plates. We asked for plates. We got 3 plates even though we were 4 in a party. We asked for another plate - guess what. Never got it. We were there longer then we should have been. Service was slow. We asked for the check, because we were fed up already. Never got the check. We got up and then finally the server comes and asked if we had paid. We said we've been waiting for the check and never came. I followed the server to get the bill. Guess what - it was the wrong bill. Got the right bill finally and paid it. I still gave a decent tip (18%). I did discuss all the issues with the server that I outlined. Nothing was done though. The server said he was stressed out. When one of your team members is stressed out, then other team members should step up to help out. Isn't that what a team does? There was nothing like that here. We tried it and won't be returning. Advice - When you open a new establishment that deals with food, service, atmosphere - then you better bring...
Read moreI’m absolutely disgusted by my latest experience here. I came here to catch up with friends who I haven’t seen in a while since moving and we were having a great time ordering drinks and food. Our server was great. We all paid with credit cards then tipped in cash. We hung out a bit after paying and once we decided to leave we hear a loud shout “HEY!”. The bartender accused all of us of walking out without paying our tab. It was absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing. The whole restaurant turned to look at us. Once she realized that we did indeed pay she simply just said “ok”. Not even an apology or any line of reasoning at all. I’m so disappointed as this was my favorite place to go with friends to catch up but I do not think I will be returning. I can’t help but think we were racially profiled for some of us being black. There was no excuse for this and to be called out in front of an entire restaurant is truly embarrassing. I don’t know what made this bartender believe we were leaving without paying, but the minute she realized she was wrong she should’ve been apologetic. Not a single “I’m sorry”. Completely disgusting behavior by...
