This is the most welcoming church I've been to. It was the first thing my wife said after the service. (I was a member for years at a beautiful Protestant church, but most people were not friendly or welcoming other than a few nice ladies who served as greeters and the wonderful initial clergy...they were replaced by clergy who were not friendly and didn't seem to want to visit with people, and the church was rather cliquish. I guess we weren't part of the cliques. We regularly brought guests who were not impressed by anything other than the beautiful building and music service. That church didn't seem to make any effort to evangelize or develop Disciples. They offered some fancy classes like learning to read scriptures in ancient Greek, which sounds interesting, but above my head. They were believers in the Word being the true Word of God, but Bible study seemed to be somewhat of an afterthought and appeared to me to be disorganized. This may be the reason that traditional Protestant churches are declining in membership, while Bible Churches are engaged in revival, especially encouraging Disciples to share the Good News...God loves us! We are sinners, but God gave His Son for us to be saved and we all have purpose! All of us! Even me. Why wouldn't I want to share that? In English? We travelled so much that we decided to look for something friendlier and more dedicated to the Word and evangelism after returning to Ft Worth full time).
One neat thing is that all the sermons are online! You can visit churches online and get a good idea if it is a place you want to visit. CC has a very professional broadcast team and a Youtube Channel.
Christ Chapel has a Beautiful Traditional 11am worship service which includes a wonderful orchestra (with a talented and passionate music director). Earlier contemporary service and related Bible Study around 9am. Teaching is in the Word and has not succumbed to changing to appease wokism or post modernism as many churches have. Very inspiring sermon and study and appears to be an extremely well run and organized church dedicated to salvation, Discipleship and outreach. The Lord blessed this church with excellent leadership. I got all that from attending once (and attending online), but I believe and pray we finally found a new church home. They welcome all and encourage you to...
Read moreThis is a wonderful church that you definitely need to visit. I love the 11:00am service with the unbelievably beautiful choir and superb orchestra. You need to Visit more than once and try out several different Sunday School classes. This church is overly blessed with brilliant teachers and I love having to decide which one to choose. I am currently attending the Renew class at 9:30am and we are working our way through church history to the reformation. I recommend for your first visit that you arrive early about 9:00am. Park in the open lots along Birchman Avenue in front of the church and walk into the main sanctuary for directions and class choices from one of the volunteers. The second visit you can park there, in the parking garage or in the remote parking with a bus you have many choices.
Everyone will say that the classes for young adults, teenagers and children are incredible. They just finished one awesome week long vacation bible school camp at the church.
Christ Chapel does many things very well inside the doors. The members are welcoming and very Fort Worth Friendly. For me the Greatest Testament of a good church is also what they do outside their doors. Christ Chapel is a bible based church, very active in their community and with overseas missionaries. I highly recommend that you come to visit and see...
Read moreMy husband (Mark) and I embarked on a special journey a few months ago. We absolutely loved our old church, but decided we wanted something more. We wanted to "feel" the music and have all the little hairs stand up on the back of our necks and arms when singing God's praise again. We felt stale and bored. It wasn't the church's fault. It was just how WE felt. We decided to "church shop" for a bit. We started with Christ Chapel Bible Church, because I had learned that my uber-talented high school choir teacher, Louis Harris, from 30 years ago, was the Music Minister there. Our first visit was back in September 2013. After the 65 piece orchestra and the 150 person choir finished singing a hymn from my childhood, Mark turned to me and said "WOW! Did you FEEL that?" Oh yea. We both had tears in our eyes, we were so moved. We were hooked! We have not "church shopped" any further. We began Starting Point classes in January 2014 and joined the church immediately. We are very happy with...
