⭐Best BBQ IN TX⭐ I've been all over Texas trying different versions of BBQ and RailHead has laid down the golden spike when it comes to smoked meats. The meat is so tender and moist every time with out fail. Hats off to the grill master or chef who is smoking the meats. Sometimes the meat is a little more smokey than others, but it has always been perfect. When we have family in from out of town this is where we bring them. Our family from Utah is still talking about how amazing the barbecue here was and it has been several months since they've been in town. We have friends in the Air Force who flew in town and needed a recommendation for a good meal, this is where I sent them. For this meal we had the Tuesday special which is chicken with two sides and a drink or you can substitute your two side options for french fries. To add; the sides need a bit of improvement, but it is practically negligible because of how good the meat is. The potato salad is way too dry for my liking, but it maybe just perfect for those that like dry potato salad. The ranch style beans taste exactly like the ones you get at Walmart out of the can with the black label nothing really special here. These are the two options I normally get because I don't eat pork. They also serve green beans, but those have pork so I can't speak to the flavor. Another side option is french fries which are probably my least favorite side. The french fries are usually mostly soggy and really don't have any flavor. They also have the usual slaw which I've never heard any complaints. My one recommendation would be adding a good mac and cheese option to the menu, it would take it to the next level. I gave the service three stars because at this location there's not really service to speak of so if you dine here you shouldn't expect anyone to check on you while you're eating or refill your drinks. Everything is pretty much self-service and with that said make sure you clean up behind yourself and don't leave your food and trays on the table. I also gave it three stars because everyone working is usually very friendly and has smiles on their face and will get you a to-go box if you need one. If you get a beer here the mugs are practically frozen and keep the beer just as cold. I know one of the beer options is Shiner Bock. I think they also have Bud and Miller but I can't say for sure. I gave the atmosphere five stars there's lots of old memorabilia to look at on the walls. They also have an outdoor patio that looks out at some old buildings. There's a little bit of road noise being so close to the highway but it's not too bad.

Stopped by this place for the first time. It's just off the freeway. Parked in the front. Didn't realize there was also parking on the side. As such, I was not sure where to order my food when I first went inside. Hint:If you enter through the front door facing the Main Street, keep walking past the bar and get in line by the metal rail at the back to order food. My meal of the day was the rib plate with a side of potato salad and green beans. My daughter was with me. She had eaten earlier, so only got a mini tub of vanilla Ice cream. She's sensitive to smells, and so to get away from the smoked meat aroma, we ate outdoors. I noticed it, but itdidn't bother me. Overall, nice ambiance inside and out. The meat was flavored nicely. Even though you typically don't get much meat on ribs, there was more meat than fat which is what I usually experience when I order ribs somewhere. I believe there were four ribs, check the photos and video for reference. Didn't care for the sauce too much. Had a very strong tomato sauce base. Almost like chunky marinara. Not all together bad, just not the typical barbecue sauce flavor I'm used to. That, plus the fact that the side portions were smaller thn I would've liked is why I gave the review 4 stars instead of 5. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was very inviting. The place was clean and well maintained. I was thinking of getting the brisket or chopped beef on my next visit, but unless they offer a different kind of barbecue sauce, like some places have original plus spicy or original or sweet, this might be my last visit.

Review of Railhead Smokehouse in Fort Worth: My visit to Railhead Smokehouse in Fort Worth left much to be desired. While there were highlights, such as the super delicious banana pudding and the good smoke flavor of the brisket, there were also significant disappointments. The brisket, while adequately smoked, was unfortunately dry, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Even the baked potato stuffed with brisket failed to impress, with the dryness of the meat overshadowing the flavors. However, the potato salad provided a pleasant surprise, offering a tasty alternative to the lackluster main dishes. The sides, including the green beans, fell short of expectations, with only the potato salad managing to stand out. On a brighter note, the margarita swirls were a delightful treat, providing a refreshing contrast to the meal. Unfortunately, the negatives extended beyond the food. The restroom facilities were in a state of disarray, reflecting poorly on the overall cleanliness of the establishment. Additionally, the staff appeared to be bickering amongst themselves, creating a tense atmosphere. Overall, my visit to Railhead Smokehouse was marred by dry brisket, lackluster sides, and subpar service. While there were some redeeming qualities, such as the delicious banana pudding and margarita swirls, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

We were so excited to try this place while visiting Texas as our Uber drivers and locals all recommended it. We got there and stood in line for a while which wasn’t too bad, only to be barked at for our order and when I asked a question I was yelled at then the question wasn’t even answered. The menu only gives you general info on what food comes with what, so when I got a dinner plate and didn’t know what it came with he just barked the sides at me and looked at me like I was an idiot. So much for southern hospitality. When I asked if I could substitute one side for a different one he just yelled the same answer at me “IT COMES WITH COLESLAW BEANS AND GREEN BEANS” and when I said okay that’s fine he then stated they were out of green beans(?!?) I ended up just moving and went to pay. Asked the other guy if I can have a cobbler too, as he went to add it to my bill the same old guy yelled at him too, “don’t RUSH ME” … me and the dude at the register just looked at each other like 👀. Safe to say we just packed our food to go and left as quick as we could. My group all agreed, brisket was good, but everything else was sub par. I’d rather go to Tennessee for BBQ then back here. As someone who works in customer service and hospitality, if I could give my experience a -1 in that regard I would. I know it gets busy and I know people run hot, but it should never effect the customer...
