Edit to original review: I used to have a 5 star for this place because honestly the service was amazing and the cakes and other items were superb. We have countless birthdays that I plan out in advance and either me or my spouse picks them up. However, earlier today put a bad taste in my mouth. I came in for an order put under our friend's name (David G, if you need the order name, we normally pick up under Winston or Andrew) and asked the girl if they had any black forest cake and immediately without checking said in a short tone "We're sold out of that". Fine. My spouse and our family love the black forest ice cream sandwiches so I asked her if she had any and she said the same thing in the same tone. I said, can you check? I watch as she goes to the freezer, she doesn't even look but instead pulls out all these empty trays thinking noone is watching and comes back and says they are out. I can't prove that they had them but from where I was standing the bags are see through on the sandwiches and it looked as if there were some in the back. Whatever though, I didn't press that to her as they were busy. But I did ask her if they could order some or when the next batch would be available because we would love to get some. Instead of being friendly customer service and saying yeah let me check or ask the manager, she immediately tells me in an annoyed voice that it is a "new item" this month and they can't order it yet. I look at her and say that isn't true because the girl next to you I have ordered from the past 2 times and gotten them. Once late last year in December and once in late January of this year. I know this because I have 3 birthdays I order with you guys for early February and 2 birthdays in December. When I told her this she looked shocked that I caught her in the lie and the other girl confirmed and said yes we did but they are new and then tried to back up the coworker which kind of shocked me because she knows we came in and ordered them. Now, I don't know if this is a management issue where they don't tell customers or try and order things for their customers but she was completely unapologetic and even insinuated that I got the black forest ice creams from another store. 1. Who else sells them? 2. We only go to you guys for our dessert pickups. So what? So either management doesn't want to order things for customers or management is unaware of their employees being lazy/and or not being customer service friendly anymore. I even go way over the top with tips because we love getting our stuff from you but I couldn't even tip this time the experience was so bad.

Read moreOK FOOD, MIXED SERVICE, NOT AN AUTHENTIC BAKERY! This place is famous for their "black forest cake" and I think it's important that people be aware that they are not serving anything remotely related to true black forest cake!
We decided to try out breakfast here because of the positive reviews, but were definitely let down. For the positives: the prices are quite cheap, the service is quick, the coffee is decent, the biscuit with gravy was great. Now onto our issues. Only about half of the staff was friendly, the breakfast special was not special (overcooked potatoes, a tiny helping of eggs), once the place got a little busy our server became impatient and forgetful, and most importantly, the deserts are just not very good.
I am putting this review up to warn others before they go here thinking they are going to eat authentic desserts. Their signature black forest cake is NOT A TRADITIONAL BLACK FOREST CAKE that you would get in Germany, England, here in the U.S., etc. They serve Swedish black forest cake. Here is the difference; traditional black forest cake consists of chocolate sponge cake layers, whipped cream, and cherries, topped with chocolate shards or decoration, in contrast, Swedish black forest cake consists of baked meringue layers, whipped cream, and chocolate sprinkles. This is supposed to be a Swiss bakery, so I have no idea why they are serving a Swedish cake. As for how the cakes tasted, THEIR "black forest cake" was OK, not good, and I suspect the "whipped cream" was cool whip because of the after taste of shortening. The chocolate mouse cake was not good; dry tasteless sponge and barely chocolatey filling that also seemed like cool whip.
All things in consideration, if you are looking for that quaint old timey american diner experience, this place is not bad. If you are looking for any sort of authentic European baked goods, you will...
Read moreI have been a customer of Swiss Pastry for 20 years. My husband fell in love with their Strawberry Torte cake with crunchies which he requested each year for his Birthday. The whipped filling was so incredibly light, fluffy and delicious.
In 2022 he requested cherries on top. When I picked up the cake it had strawberries so they scraped off the strawberries and put the cherries on top. Even though you can see the strawberry sauce sticking out from under the whipped cream, my husband was ok with it and it was delicious.
In 2023 I ordered the same cherry torte with crunchies. When I picked it up, I saw that it had almonds on the side instead of crunchies. When I stated that I didn't order that, the girl rudely said, "so" and walked away. They offered no solution to fix what they did wrong only giving me attitude which I didn't understand. The cake just tasted ok.
This year crunchies are no longer available. They got the order right but the taste of it is way off and it does not look appetizing. The once whipped and fluffy filling was more dense or thick and tastes odd. This was a very disappointing Birthday cake for more than $50. Next year we will go elsewhere. Unfortunately, the quality is no longer represented...
