It has potential, but there is too much garbage. I see city workers there cleaning, but the trash floating in the weeds always remains. I have met some friendly people here and caught a few fish. The turtle population is very healthy and that can be annoying when fishing with cut bait or bread.
If you use small hooks, there are plenty of small green sunfish and small catfish. The bottom is very slimy, so if you are jigging the bottom, expect to be pulling weeds from your jig often.

For the longest time, before the pandemic hit, I would pick up and dispose of a bunch of litter (dozen or more pieces a day). People PLEASE dispose of your trash properly! It is disheartening to see the ducks and turtles and all the wildlife swimming in trash polluted water! Also, please City of Fort Worth, put more trash barrels in and maybe empty the barrels more often! Some are piled up so bad that people are setting their trash on the ground. Ugh Okay, rant over. Everyone stay healthy and safe and let's all do our part for...
Read moreI love how safe this park is. I like the renovation it had too. They added a bridge on the lake, inside the park, that you can walk on. Which is nice because it is now possible to enjoy the entire park without having to get in your vehicle and drive around the street to get to half of it. It really adds value and compliments our community. There's a playground, fire places, picnic tables, animals, and a great place to go fishing. This park is patrolled after 10:30pm, even though the park doesn't close until 11:00pm, which is nice...
