My kids (8, 10, 11) love this hike. It's steep at the beginning and erosion has made the climb tricky in spots. Definitely worth the views of your don't mind the climb. Suggestions: - Sign at beginning says "Not dog friendly". I would agree. - Go on a cloudy day or later in the day. It gets HOT with no shade around. - If you're not up for a long hike, plan to hike back down and drive over to the amphitheatre if that's on your list as well. - Watch out for rattle snakes. We've never seen one, but definitely could be around.

Decent amount of parking, hard to miss if you are following the Google. Going to the top of Mt Morrison was a tough but very rewarding journey. The trail is steep from the get-go. It does flatten a bit in some parts. But then other parts, including the top, you need to use the paws too. Loose Rock in those steep spots makes this trail difficult. But at the top, wonderful views of the Denver skyline, Dakota Ridge, the amphitheater, and the mountains to the west.

Hiked in mid December. Not much ice on the trail, I actually slipped on the slush on the way down a few times. Great views of the entire front range from the start, steep and rocky parts after the initial well maintained incline. Some solid 3rd class scrambling and maybe some optional 4th class if you are up for it. Lots of talus climbing before that, though. Fun and tough trail overall.
