If you're going to make somebody wait 45 minutes for a table, you should probably let them know by the time they get seated brunch will not be served at... noon... on a Sunday. We got here at 11:15 got seated about 12:15 or so and were told that brunch/breakfast was no longer being served. This is the only restaurant in Colorado I've ever been to that stops serving brunch/breakfast at noon on a Sunday.
UpdatedI know the manager has since responded to this review, but there were some edits that I wanted to put in here, just because of how the experience was so frustrating.
To address some of the manager excuses, I get the kitchen's old, but as a manager you probably could have made breakfast happen for a table that had been waiting 45 minutes without being told breakfast would not be available, I don't think it would have been a great strain on your old kitchen to just get one more out especially since we were sitting there surrounded by people eating breakfast, and in fact still being serve breakfast, (I watched a hot breakfast go right by me as I was sitting at our table). The size of your kitchen doesn't explain why it took so long for us to get our drinks, my dad's latte came out about 15 minutes after he ordered it followed by my glass of champagne 4 minutes later, which shouldn't take much labor or space, and was only delivered after asked about it after waiting for some period of time. Plain and simple, we were disappointed we couldn't get breakfast, we expressed that disappointment, and the wait staff couldn't "deal" with us. We were effectively "blacklisted" even though we HAD elected to stay and just have lunch instead. Which is funny because I had decided on the soup of the day (white bean chili) only to be told it wasn't available shortly thereafter . After waiting nearly 2 hours for service and food, my mother got her appetizer, and my father, nephew and I continued to wait for drinks and food. At one point amidst frustration and probably "hanger" we just decided we were going to cancel the order. It was only then that the manager Andrew came over to have a discussion with us...it was weird because his initial comment was "I just read your review" even though I had just barely even finished it (well the first version of it). I flat out told him that we felt our table was blacklisted, he issued a standard apology, comped what had been delivered, and canceled the rest. Yippe. Neither of our servers were kind or professional, just trying to "deal" with us it would seem, and I suppose anybody reading this review might be like well you seem like difficult people to deal with, but we're actually not, we're just normal people that were freaking starving only to be told breakfast wasn't available and then get a lot of flack for complaining about it for only being there a few minutes after the "cut-off" and not being told initially that we may not be able to have breakfast. All of this could have been avoided if we had known that because we were simply would have gone somewhere else. I've been a Customert Service Manager for 30 years, if I had a customer that was waiting 45 minutes for brunch/breakfast and they missed it because they couldn't get seated in time, I would have made it happen. I don't care how small kitchen is. And "cross contomination" between lunch and breakfast, well, yeah,...
Read moreI'll start by saying the food here is fine. Nothing amazing but nothing terrible. Probably a little overpriced for what it is. Had the wings, a burger, a buffalo wrap and turkey club. All were nothing special and the wings were a little overdone. Overall fine but nothing I would come back for.
Average food would have been fine to deal with, but the service here was just awful. We came in right after apparently a big rush. We got seated right away and just asked for some water. The waitress who first talked to us never again came back with our water or even so much as glanced in our direction. Wasn't until nearly an hour later that the manager came over to ask how we were doing were we able to order food and drinks. Still no water. Still no attention from the waitress and now another waiter running around. At this point the rush was done with and the patio area almost empty so was pretty weird to feel completely ignored. Finally got drinks and asked for our water again. Didn't get them until the waitress finally came up to ask if we were ready to order at which point we just asked her for the waters we asked for over an hour ago. Finally got food, was fine, had to wait for the manager to come by again to get the check as the wait staff continued to ignore us and not even glance in our direction. Manager must have noticed something was off and gave us a minor discount on our bill and offered us free ice cream but we didn't dare wait any longer for anything there. Like I could forgive the place if after the first few mistakes they started to check up on us occasionally but completely ignoring us and forgetting about us is ridiculous. We weren't high maintenance, we just wanted to eat. Food wasn't good enough to risk dealing...
Read moreI wouldn't listen to the positive reviews on this place. The major issue was the food. It was almost like everything was rubber. I ordered the chicken fried steak, fairly standard quality but stingy on the gravy. The scrambled eggs were bland and rubbery. I ordered cube potatoes and got hash which were overcooked. I also got pancakes that were rubbery and practically inedible with the cheap corn syrup they serve, unless you opt for the $2 tiny container of real maple syrup. I never would leave any pancake unfinished and I couldn't finish this pancake, it was that bad. My wife had the famous breakfast burrito and it was also as if the meat was cooked then boiled to reheat.
The service was inattentive and not personable or inviting. Atmosphere was loud and cramped. I would recommend eating outside if possible to avoid the noise, if you choose to eat here at all. I'm not looking for a quiet dining experience, but this was basically listening to your neighbors' table yelling. Our server took a while to bring a mediocre, bland premix bloody Mary and forgot my water with it. She did offer to bring something else after my wife said the food was not great, but this was after we got our check. I'm always apprehensive accepting new food after complaining about food, and out of belief the food would probably be the same quality as these dishes. Hate to leave a negative review as I'm sure this establishment has been a staple of Morrison but this was a bad experience, and seems to be in line with the other low Star reviews recently. Not sure who gives this a 5 star, but I would recommend IHOP or Denny's over this. I've only left less than a 5 Star review if something was just that bad. This...
