After about 12 years of trying to do a heli trip, the day finally came and we couldn't have been more psyched for the experience. We had booked it before and weren’t able to fly due to weather so each time the anticipation just grew. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. Our guide, Eric Faull, was terrible. He has a way of saying things the wrong way and just being rude. He never once cracked a smile the entire day. He did almost everything in his power to kill the excitement. We each spent $1400 and only got in 6 runs totaling about 7K vertical feet the entire day. The day before we went heli, we did over 23K vertical feet of riding at the Canyons. It was a Saturday, the lifts were on weather delay for an hour, we took lunch, we hiked the 9990 bowl twice and we still got in over 3 times the vertical versus the day we went heli. The groups were too big and you spent most of the day just waiting for the guides to let you drop in. When they finally did, you were able to take about 10 - 15 turns before they stopped and made the group gather again. Then they would let everyone go again, one at a time, several minutes b/t skiers/ riders, making everyone wait yet again. The heli was awesome and the experience was flights were wild but the riding was mediocre at best. They never ask what your riding ability is. They just group you by weight. We never took a run more advanced than a double blue. If you want my advice, save the money and stick to the resorts/ hiking bowls. The fresh tracks were awesome but it wasn't nearly enough riding. When we were done for the day, we felt like we had the day off. I had done a snowcat trip in Tahoe about 8 years prior and thought heli would be better, faster and get in more riding but it wasn’t the case at all. I would do the snowcat trip again way before ever thinking about doing heli again. Even if they gave me a free day to make it up to me, I’d probably pass on the offer and not waste a day at...

This is as my second time flying with Powderbird and had an amazing experience. I was a bit apprehensive about this being late March but they put me on some great demo K2 pontoons and found amazing 6 runs with a good diversity of bowls trees and gully’s. Given the avalanche danger, I was very appreciative of the focus on safety. Our guide was Nate and he knew the runs and terrain very well and he made sure we had fun and we’re safe. The one statement he made stuck with me “Ski at 70% of what you normally ski as this is the backcountry”. This was a very nice day and there were a full house so we had to wait for the groups to assemble before we could ski but it wasn’t too bad. The breakfast before we started and the lunch after were high quality and delicious- luxury experience and highly recommend. I got lucky with the day I booked but the weather can really cause delays so you should book the time and have a few days so you can shift in case they don’t fly due to bad weather. For example I flew in the 29th on March and the last time they had flown was 21st ! PS. I lost a glove before I arrived at the heliport - one of the folks there (Matt?) who works there loaned me a his...

I flew with Powderbird Jan 4, 2023. I booked the trip with Becka. She was super professional and friendly. She was patient with me and answered every question that I had. Arrived at the base at 8 AM. They had a fine breakfast waiting for everyone. We had a thorough safety and avalanche briefing. (Avalanche danger was elevated) Relaxed and waited on the weather and cloud cover. The pilot and guide determined that it was not safe to fly. We decided as a group to go skiing at Snowbird on the tram. We warmed up with several comped runs on the Tram. Once the weather cleared we jumped on the bird and really had an Epic day of skiing on safe beautiful terrain over in American Fork Canyon!! The guides Cameron and Nate were extremely professional, knowledgeable and fun to fly with. The pilot was also very professional. We got a bunch of great deep powder runs and just had a great day of beautiful Wasatch Helicopter skiing. I could not quit smiling!! We flew back to the base camp and they had a great delicious lunch prepared for everyone. I Highly recommend Powderbirds in the Wasatch. They are really an fine...

This was an experience of a lifetime. I've been gazing up at Mt. Superior since I was a teenager, dreaming of bombing down that juicy bowl. Today that dream came true and it was even more incredible than I could imagine. Very few people get to experience the Cardiac Bowl on a perfect bluebird day with a foot of fresh pow. Powderbird can make that happen. We watched the weather for about 6 weeks and we're ready to fly to Utah on short notice. They were great to work with for planning our trip, and gave us as much flexibility as possible. Our guide was fantastic (Nate) and our pilot (Carson) had a supernatural level of control over that chopper. The Apres Ski lunch was very good. I am literally planning my life around a yearly trip. It has absolutely ruined resorts for me.

I’m a local. Been skiing in little cottonwood my entire life. I flew with Powederbird on three different days during the 21/22 season. The first day (December) was awful - we made two tiny runs and then they ended the day… on a blue bird powder day. Avvy danger was high and they didn’t have enough terrain alternatives. The 2nd day was amazing (early March). Deep, bluebird power day in cardiff fork / cardiac ridge. The third day (March) was all about creativity in American Fork Canyon. I was impressed by Nate’s ability to find good runs on a variable conditions day. I think the best setup is semi-private. We did daily and were limited a little by the other skiers. We’ll do 2-3 days with PowderBird each year.
