I should have believed all the reviews on here before eating at Seventy One. We had a reservation for 7:15 and were seated immediately. We were finally acknowledged by our server at 7:40. We ordered a Seventy One salad, ribs and 2 Peruvian burgers. It took another 30 minutes to get our food. I'm not sure if they thought we were European but we were served lukewarm water with no ice. The water was refilled only once, again with no ice. We didn't order any other drinks. The salad was a bit on the small side but quite good. The ribs were tough, nowhere near the "fall off the bone" you want when ordering ribs. They needed at least 2-3 more hours of cooking time. We ordered the burgers medium well because pink ground beef=sketchy in a lot of places, which was our mistake. Should have ordered medium. However, the problem wasn't the well cooked meat as much as it was the burned to a crisp bun. I though the burned taste was the meat until I noticed that the bun was literally black! The French fries were delicious, which is what saved this review from 1 star, however we asked for a side of mayo when our food was delivered which never came. We even asked a different server since ours never came back who didn't even fill the request. The extra ketchup we asked for came after we were almost finished eating. The restaurant wasn't overly busy and there was plenty of staff working. We were here in October. There was no reason for such slow service. We saw our server just hanging out chatting with other employees. There were several other tables seated near us who also waited at least 30 minutes to be acknowledged by their server. There's a problem with the culture of service at Seventy One which is unfortunate as there aren't a whole lot of food options at the resort. Do yourself a favor and order a pizza from Tram Car instead. You'll save tons of money and be...

We stayed in the Cliff hotel for several days. The hotel is great. But this restaurant: I guess because of the location (you have nowhere else to eat for dinners), their manager couldn’t care less about their service and food quality.
The first evening we went there, the waitress didn’t bring back my credit card after the payment. So I just left forgetting my card. I only realized this on the day I was about to leave the hotel. I went back to ask for my card, the manager told me they turned the card in to the public safety and ask me to go check with them. The public safety staff checked all their records for these days and no one turned in any credit card.
The food itself is ok quality. Nothing like dinner taste though. My beef and mushroom potato is too salty, my daughter ordered chicken tenders and she said only chicken is edible, and the fries (it’s not really fries, they are more like potato wedges) are soggy, so she only ate the chicken.
The second evening we went there again (I said there is no other choice). After waiting for seating for 20 minutes, I didn’t feel well due to mountain/altitude sickness. So we decided to order something to go. Then we waited for our food for another 30 minutes. My daughter asked the waitress at the front door multiple times about our food (I was so unwell and couldn’t talk) and was told they will “go check” but they never did. After my daughter asked one more time with some attitude, finally the food was ready, but it’s all cold. $20 (with tax and tips) just for tiny portion of Mac cheese and some soggy potato wedges again!! My daughter was sad after opening her food.
Lesson learned, this restaurant made this great hotel a no no palace for my family, even we liked the hotel and all hotel staff are so great and so friendly, especially the front...
Read moreWe stopped by around 4:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening for dinner. We actually had the entire place to ourselves. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The actual location is great (nice view of the slopes).
Loaded potato wedge 8/10: cheese, bacon, and sauteed onions on potato wedges were a hit for a quick appetizer. Bacon could have been crispier.
Wedge salad 7/10: crispy bacon, blue cheese crumbles, fresh iceberg lettuce. This was a decent wedge, but a steep price for $15. It needed more blue cheese dressing, but that was easily fixed by asking for more (like I should have done with my filet 😅)
Filet mignon with mashed potatoes 3/10: I ordered a medium rare filet and received a medium well to well done filet (I wasn't asked how the temp was after it was served, which you'd expect from any high end restaurant). I should have sent it back, but it was awkward being the only people in the restaurant... Lol. The mashed potatoes were decent but needed some serious salt.
Ahi tuna nachos 7/10: passable for ahi nachos, but the tuna quality left plenty to be desired.
Fish and chips: I'd be surprised if this was fresh haddock that was battered in-house. My guess is it was frozen and popped in a fryer. For $25, this was probably not worth it, but it was still tasty. The coleslaw that it came with was dry and boring. Not sure you can even call it a true slaw.
Chicken strips kids meal: my son ate all the chicken and was pleased with the potato wedges.
Pasta with marinara kids meal: decent portion of pasta, although my daughter stopped eating because it was pretty bland.
Mud pie 8/10: actually probably the best part of the meal. $16 for a slice of pie, and I'd expect it to come a la mode, but that was...
