Updating my review from a long time ago, used to be a 5 star review but today I went to see the movie Trap, tickets go through and they tell us the theater number, we order our snacks, popcorn, drinks, etc... and arrive in the theater and no one is there and the projector is off. I walk out to the ticket booth and to inform them of this and the same lady that checked our tickets in tells us "oh, yeah, that movie won't start because the projector is broken". I don't have an issue with that, accidents happen, technology breaks, they have almost no control with that. My issues are for everything after this.
The time it took for them to get a different employee to handle all of the refunds, the loops we had to jump through was horrible. We had to have the exact same credit card that we used for the online purchase we used to preorder the seats from a while back, our schedules are busy and don't overlap often so having to get that same CC back was a pain. We had to rescan our A-List QR code multiple times, and after around 15 minutes the refund for the tickets was done, just the tickets, and then we had to move over to the concessions stand to go through that whole process for our food/drink refund. We were very agitated that we were not told about the projector when we scanned our tickets as this would have saved a lot of hassle. We went through the same, long process to do the food/drink refund.
The worst part of all of this is that we were only refunded for the tickets are food/drinks, nothing additional was given as compensation for our wasted time and gas. Instead of a system where they notify all ticket purchasers of a known issue before they drive out to the theater, we wasted a lot of our time and gas as we both drive a long way to get to this theater. I own a business near and after 6 years of being open we encountered our first ever glitch that lead to a double booking. I game the people that were inconvenienced a free session later that night after my store had officially closed, I gave them free snacks and drinks, and free future visit for the inconvenience. That night, they gave me a 5-star review and appreciated how above and beyond we went despite them the issue earlier in the day. This AMC did nothing to go above and beyond.
I don't know when we'll be able to get our schedules to match up again, this movie, Trap, will probably be gone by then or have far more limited showings making it even tougher to find a matching time. We made mentions of this while going through the refund process, saying how it would have been nice to know of the projector issue before we bought things, how we can't reschedule to a different showtime that day, how we had to drive a long ways, how we may not get another chance to see this movie again, but after all that they made no additional compensation.
I'm not mad at the employees there directly (except the lady that didn't inform us when we scanned our tickets), I'm sure they're bound by what they can do by the higher ups, so that's who we're mad at. AMC is a large corporation, not some small local theater. They should have a better system that allows a theater to push a notification to customers that there is a technical glitch with their theater, auto refunds on there, and saves them time to drive out. They should also give their employees the ability to provide better compensation to people when something like this happens. We waste a whole lot more than just the cost of the ticket when something like...

I like AMC because I’m a stubs member and can see up to three movies a week, and it includes any of the screen sizes including Dolby and Imax. I usually come once a week, sometimes twice, as I’m a movie buff. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been really disappointed with this theater. I’m not sure why, but they have completely stopped popping their popcorn in any butter or salt. Now, you have to ask for it on the side, if they don’t offer it, and it’s super messy and inconvenient to have to do myself. I get butter grease all over myself, as they put it in this little to-go cup, and I have to shake the salt out carefully to evenly distribute it among the entire bucket of popcorn. Not a huge deal, but I’m paying almost $20 for a large popcorn combo and the popcorn is usually stale and cold, and then it’s soggy and the super salty because the topping’s aren’t evenly distributed throughout the bucket. I’m just kinda over it, and don’t even want to spend the money on it anymore. Tonight I decided to order food instead, because I figured that at least the food would be hot… but the only thing they had to offer were chicken strips, and when I bit into them, all I could taste was the grease gushing from them. I mean, they were completely saturated, and I couldn’t eat them. I’ve given up on the food and concessions at this point, and almost always half of the soda machines are half empty, so you have to walk across the lobby to the other machines to get the soda that you want. I’m just frustrated at this point. At first, I thought, “oh maybe there’s a reason the popcorn isn’t buttered”, but it’s been three weeks and every time I come back, the popcorn is worse than the time before, and the other things that I mentioned are still just as bad. Really considering cancelling my Stubs membership, and making the drive to Regal in Nashville. I don’t want to keep spending my money where I’m getting the absolute...
Read moreif you’re ordering dine in pls make sure ur choosing a theater with recliners because we made the mistake of choosing a dine in showing of wicked in a standard seat theater. there were no trays to eat on or anywhere to set your food. zero room in the walkway for any servers to get to you & no call button on the seats to order food. luckily we were a few minutes late and decided to order food at the bar while getting our drinks bc had we just went to the theater, we wouldve had to turn right back around & miss part of the movie to go order food at the concessions stand. when our food was “delivered”, the server had absolutely no way to get to us due to the lack of room to walk like i mentioned before. so they handed the food to some random person in our row ?? (who never clarified it wasn’t theirs so we assumed it wasn’t our food until about an hour into the movie & still hadn’t been delivered our food) my boyfriend had to leave the theater & miss some of the movie to go ask about our order & it ultimately ended up having to be remade bc it was in fact misdelivered to a different person who didn’t even question it & ate our food. when we did eventually get our order it came in a to-go box. the first time i went to this theater for dine in (pre-covid) it was not like this at all. what i experienced this time around & a previous time to see the barbie movie last year is not anywhere near what i would expect for a dine-in experience theater. it was inconvenient & a hassle. i really hope they can fix these issues or at least disclose that standard seating theaters (even with being labeled as a dine in showing) do not offer the same experience as recliner seat theaters. i’m sure i’ll most likely end up getting the same ai generated copy/paste response as all the other reviews but this is mostly just to help people out & keep them from having the same...
