This idiom is a reality at Brown Bag. A small unassuming restaurant in Brentwood crafts an exquisite lunch.

I'll start by saying the heaps of outdoor seating made for a lovely atmosphere. People chatting, and people enjoying the weather has a certain whimsy to it.

Walking inside, the counter is small and the seating indoors is limited, you'll notice a large chalkboard with what seems to be a rotating menu.

I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Tacos, with cornbread casserole and grilled Asparagus.

The tacos were freshly prepared, and so was the asparagus. I mean, hot and delicious fresh from the grill asparagus seasoned perfectly and hot tortillas filled with grilled chicken coated in a light yet spicy buffalo sauce accompanied by some chunks of real blue cheese, and a drizzle of blue cheese dressing atop a stack of shredded lettuce. The combo of the blue cheeses made for a wonderful mouthfeel and, again, the freshness of the chicken made for a fabulous main course.

I wasnt particularly crazy for the cornbread casserole, but not because it wasnt well made, ir certainly was hand crafted that day. It was very filling and not spicy enough for my tastes.

REVIEW FOR WEDDING CATERING ONLY: The company itself is full of nice people. I was hesitant to post this review due to liking the people I worked with. HOWEVER, people have postponed their weddings and may be looking for a wedding caterer. I needed to share my experience so others would not go through what I did.

1. the people are so nice and accommodating
2. the food has absolutely zero flavor. We got the chili package and ordered a few Mac and cheese pans as extra sides. Most people know that when you have a wedding guests care about 3 things: dancing, drinks & FOOD!

Almost all of my guests complained about how flavorless the food was. I could have cried. Some of my cousins cheered me up and told me “it isn’t BAD food, just flavorless”. Needless to say that didn’t cheer me up. Every wedding usually has something that goes wrong. unfortunately in my case it was the food. Everything else went so perfectly throughout the day. My only regret is the flavorless chili and flavorless Mac and cheese. Honestly I don’t remember what else came with the chili catering package as this was an October 31, 2019 wedding. The only thing I remember and what my family remembers is the flavorless food. While the people are very nice, don’t let bland flavorless food ruin your wedding day....

A Lunchtime Affair to Remember! Brown Bag Catering is the midday masterpiece you never knew you needed. From the moment we walked in, Cameron, Phoebe, and Jake treated us like visiting dignitaries—gracious, attentive, and insightful, as they knew exactly what we needed before we did.

The space? Spotless and chic—think “casual lunch meets magazine spread.” And while their hours are a fleeting 11 AM to 2 PM, Mon — Fri, their food is worth planning your week around.

Now, the food! Buffalo Chicken Tacos that scream simplicity & a powerful taste, jalapeño corn casserole that gives a surprising twist to a classic side dish, and a steak sandwich so tender I’m convinced it was massaged daily. Don’t even get me started on the banana pudding and brownies—desserts so divine they could headline at the Grand Ole Opry.

We loved it so much, we had them cater our Thanksgiving dinner while visiting from out of town. Best decision ever. Honestly, I may skip cooking altogether from now on—why bother when Brown Bag exists?
