Let me start with the positive. I saw “How to Succeed in Business” and the cast was very good, considering it was community theatre. The cast is also the wait staff and they were very friendly and attentive.
HOWEVER, there were many negatives. The buffet was mediocre, and that was being generous. The potatoes were good, but the green beans were over cooked and tasteless. The chicken parmigiana was rubbery and the sauce had a funny metallic taste. The pasta was adequate, but the tilapia was also over cooked. I had an alcoholic drink - one of their show specials- a Coffee Break- which was supposed to be vodka, Kahlua, with cream, but there was barely any Kahlua, and the 'cream' I very strongly suspect was just milk. It was a very disappointing drink. For dessert, I got the vanilla mousse, which was another disappointment. It had a slight taste of vanilla, but was more sweet, with a large dollop of whipped cream on it.
My biggest complaint is the chairs. There is no padding on the chairs. By the end of the first act, I was up extremely uncomfortable. At intermission, I was talking to another patron, who commiserated with me about the chairs, so I am not alone in this. She also told me that the buffet used to be much larger and better quality.
Another thing. They have a sign when you walk in that you can not put gratuities on a credit card. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. That should be prominately displayed on the website. Normally, both my friend and I never carry cash, but fortunately, we did that night. Unfortunately, all we had was large bills, so we had to wait until we paid our bill to get the change to leave a tip. What would have happened if we didn't have cash? I wonder if the poor wait staff gets stiffed if people show up with no cash?
Its really a shame. The play itself was really pretty good. At times the music overpowered the singing, but for the most part, it was enjoyable. I like to support local actors, but for all the negatives, I seriously doubt that I...
Read moreWent to see Shrek and it was a great musical! Shrek did an amazing performance along with the other performers. Have to give a shout out to Gingy too! She was amazingly good and one of my all time favorite characters! Food was average. I didn't know the servers were the performers which was neat. But, the wait time in between was very long. We took our honorary niece and nephew. It was a very special evening to us. When I called and bought the tickets for the closing night, the nice man on the phone indicated that would be a fun night. It was a special night until the end. Our niece indicated she would love to get her playbill signed (as she has been there before and had others play bills signed). I said sure. The very nice hostess was trying to accommodate us when another woman hearing the conversation flew by and shouted it is closing night! That they have to turn in their costumes etc etc. as she went flying by. I mean there wasn't a line. Just my special niece and nephew grasping onto their play bills in hopes to have a treasured memory. I mean how long would that take to scribble a name? What disappointment for the kids and I was absolutely APPALLED. I looked up this woman who was also behind the counter when we arrived. To you Deb Kiska, thank you for ruining a very nice evening and for breaking two...
Read moreWOW! What a wonderful evening we had last night at WOB! It's been awhile since we have attended a show but tonight we were entertained by some fabulous actors performing Hello Dolly! What a rip roaring time we had being transported back to New York City to the 1900's! The show was fabulous, the singing was beyond spectaculour, the costumes and sets design were right on point! What's so unique about WOB is the ability to interact with the actors in the show as they are your servers for the evening. So where you might not be familiar with them in the beginning by the time there is intermission and they check in with you for anything last minute you may need/want before the second act, you have become familar with the parts they play and for us there was loads of interaction with them! The dinner was so good, with beef medalions, salmon with dill sauce and turkey breast, along with various vegetables and yummy mashed potatoes, and lets not forget deserts! The show was phenomenal due to the outstanding work of the actors and chorographer, at the end of the evening they received a standing ovation! Buy a ticket and have a...
