@VR — Local services in Frederick

My husband and I had a date here earlier this week. It was our first time playing VR and it was definitely such a fun experience! We came in on a weekday afternoon where it was quiet since kids were still in school.

We ended up being the only ones there and the owner, Shantay, walked us through everything effortlessly and gave us the best recommendations of games to start off with.

Starting out, we found that the graphics in the game were amazing and it really fills you with so much wonder when you play a VR game for the first time. It's like a whole other world!

There were moments where I'd be distracted taking in the views all around me and then suddenly remember there were zombies after us when I'd take a flying axe to the face.

We booked for a 90-minute session and I felt like that was the perfect amount of time to sample multiple games when you're first starting out. However, if you have a larger party and will be switching out players, I'd recommend booking for more time. It goes by fast!

Since some of the shooter games were a little challenging for novices like ourselves, Shantay joined in some of our games to back us up. It made it all the much more fun!

With just that short window of time, we were immediately able to tell that Shantay was an amazing guy who truly takes pride and LOVES his business. It's hard to find people with passion like that nowadays.

Don't just assume that this place is only for kids. This is a great place for ALL AGES as there is a game for everyone.

I haven't been able to stop raving about @VR to my family and they plan on paying a visit within the month.

Short story: This establishment is incredible if you're looking to have a great VR experience with a group or by yourself. Shantay really goes above and beyond to accommodate and help guide people through their VR adventures. Excellent host, and tons of fun!

Long story: I was looking to set up a personal VR space and decided to stop by @VR to see what headsets they had available. I ended up spending the entire time speaking with Shantay. We went over his struggles and successes with the different devices and he gave me excellent tips and tricks for setting up my own space. He was so, so, so kind and sweet. I learned that he personally tries all the games that he has available (which is quite the selection) so that if people get stuck, he can help guide them through the process. The establishment itself is quite spacious and he has excellent mats and curtains to give you tactile borders for your play space. @VR has high quality computers to run all the games at high frames and good resolution. There are TVs broadcasting what every station is playing, so you can still be entertained and share in the experience with those in VR. @VR also has a small fridge for refreshments and beverages (highly recommend water or juice, VR is exhausting!). I can not recommend this place enough and wish I knew...

Had a really great time here with my family yesterday, the people that work there/ own the establishment are awesome and were super helpful, patient, and informative. After a really fun workout playing some of the multiplayer games with zombies, they offer water which is super nice because you will get hot lol. They also make sure that each of the headsets and controllers are wiped down and they wear masks and gloves. The location is great since there’s a large parking lot with free parking. I believe there is a gas station near there and places to eat close by for before or after fun @vr. They even have a stamp card system too so there are some great benefits to those that will frequently go to make it extra worth your while. They host private events and birthday parties and the prices are super in comparison to some locations I have been to before in dc. If you live in a different county like me it was worth the trip we made a day of it and went to Topgolf afterwards. I forget the name of the gentleman who owns @vr and the lady who went with him on the awesome journey but you guys are amazing and keep up...
