I used to frequent the markets on Baughman's lane and then near the urgent care. In past years, the prices and quality were acceptable enough that I would shop there fairly frequently.
But I went to the Farmers Market on route 40 outside Gavigan's recently and the prices were insane. A dollar an ear for corn?? $7 for a tiny watermelon?? I left and went down the street to Weis, where I paid $2 for 8 ears of corn and $4.99 for a much much bigger watermelon.

I bought locally produced nectarines and peaches. Tomatoes, sweet corn, cukes, peppers, etc. available. Lovely flower bouquets. A local...
