We had an exceptional experience with Dr. Sharma throughout our entire pregnancy journey, and I wanted to share our honest review for anyone considering her care.
Her clinical judgment is impeccable. Over the course of our visits, we saw this again and again, every decision she made turned out to be exactly right. There were moments when we weren’t sure what direction to go, but she always guided us with clarity and precision. She was right 10 out of 10 times.
She gives you all the time you need. Every appointment felt unhurried, no matter how many questions we had, and trust me, we came very prepared. She patiently walked us through everything until we had nothing more to ask. A gentle reminder to other patients: don’t try to be over-smart or talk down to your doctor. Mutual respect goes a long way in making the experience productive. I got opportunities to interact with many great doctors, and she definitely belongs to that league.
Her objectivity really stood out. On decisions like cord blood storage, genetic tests, choosing labs, food choices, dieticians, medicines, lifestyle changes or pediatricians, she never inserted personal bias. She simply gave us our options and encouraged us to use our own judgment, which is a sign of a truly professional and experienced practitioner.
For complex or non-standard cases, you’re in the best hands. We had a non-straightforward pregnancy and honestly, if we had gone to a big system-driven hospital like Kaiser, things might not have gone as well. With Dr. Sharma, we had constant access and never once felt helpless. In the last two months alone, she saw us every three days, and we were always reassured. This helped us plan our jobs, regular activity, travel and out routine with more certainty.
She goes above and beyond, even outside formal consultations. We had regular NSTs (non-stress tests) every few days in the final weeks. She could’ve easily delegated them to staff, but she always checked in with us personally, not once, but twice during each visit, and even spent time with us even though it wasn’t a regular consultation.
There’s no substitute for personalized care. Big hospital systems like kaiser (our previous insurance) might have 24/7 coverage, but nothing beats having a doctor who knows your full story, keeps a close eye on you on a weekly basis, and brings deep, hands-on experience. That level of attention and understanding is very important to prevent anamolies.
When she’s on the job (for example the actual labor), she enters a focused, no-nonsense zone, completely undeterred and disconnected from the noise around her. She handles even the most intense situations with calm confidence, never showing signs of stress or worry that could make patients anxious. It's only afterward that you realize how much she was managing behind the scenes.
Lastly, on a personal note: we felt at home with her. We shared many laughs, funny stories, and genuine moments. It wasn’t just clinical care; it was human connection, and that made all the difference. She really cares for her patients !!
A quick note on logistics: While her administrative process and a few staff members could benefit from some additional training and streamlining the process, there is always a tradeoff with smaller systems which are driven my individuals, and it’s understandable and we all have off days. The key thing is that they didn’t carry any of that over to the next visit, which clearly suggests that it wasn’t anything personal, but their bad day...
Read moreIF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD Receptionist Heidi and Tasmeen are NOT transparent and do NOT value their patient’s time. Today was my first appointment as a new patient. I called at 10:45am and asked if I could come earlier as my appointment time was at 11:15. However, the receptionist said the doctor was very busy and had back to back appointments. I went inside the office at 11am as I was waiting in the car for 15 mins. Started filling the new patient paperwork right as I walked in at 11am. At 11:15am I hear the office staff talk about that the Dr Sharma left and does NOT know what time she will be coming back as Dr Sharma did NOT inform her own staff. At 11:25am I asked “ How long will the wait be?” the response I got from that was “we are putting in your information in the computer system”. After Heidi was done putting in my info, she informs me that the doctor has left and if they can reschedule my appointment. I was very disappointed as they wasted my 45 mins. I only asked why it took them this long to inform me that their doctor had left, Heidi and Tasneem had nothing to say. It’s sad how they treat their clients. I told them I work in the medical field and know how to treat my patients. I told them I will never come back to this doctor again only because they were NOT transparent. I wouldn’t want to waste my time, energy and my hard earned money even if my insurance is paying for it. Why should I give it to a doctor who doesn’t value you. The doctor could have had an emergency, however if that was the case, the doctor should have informed her team, as transparency is important to build clients and relationships with those clients. I was referred by my PCP, I will let her know my experience and will inform NOT to refer anyone. Hope this review will make Dr Sharma and her staff be transparent with...
Read moreMy first appointment with Dr.Sharma went really well and she was very considerate and replied to all my queries. There was some delay from the front office staff but I usually tend to ignore such stuff as I'm just concerned about getting a good doctor.
After my first appointment she diagnosed that I had a polyp and/or septum and that need to be removed through a surgery and scheduled me for one. I had recently moved to Cali and my previous doctor had already performed a hysterscopy and confirmed I don't have any septum/ cysts or polyps. I was a bit skeptical about the diagnosis and wanted to get a second opinion. I tried to put the surgery on hold for some time. Her response to that was very insensitive and kind of tried to scare and make me do the procedure. I went to another OBGYN and he did an ultrasound and confirmed what my previous doctor already said, that I don't have any abnormal growth and uterus looks fine.
I was new to the place and went here after seeing so many good reviews but my experience wasn't pleasant at all. The reason why I wrote this review is not to stop you from going to Dr.Sharma, as many people really seem to like her, but not to blindly follow any procedures / surgeries prescribed. If at any point you feel something is not right, always get...
