Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is particularly based on the current exhibition(s), especially the Ukiyo-E gallery on loan from the Georgia Museum of Art. It's on display till the end of the month (June 2024). It is really quite something! And surprising that a small museum like the FAM would have these exquisite prints on view. The two times that I've been it has not been crowded at all and I nearly had the place to myself. I hope that the Fresno and surrounding community could come out in numbers and support such world-class exhibits such as this one and that the museum could continue to increase the caliber of art that it has on view. The space is kind of small, but easy to navigate with a little sculpture garden outside, too. I would say you could see pretty much everything in the museum in about an hour. There is ample free parking out front, as well. I've never had any issues, but it is worth noting that it is right next to "Radio Park," which as other commentator's have mentioned has its fair share of shady characters hanging around. I've never had any problems in the middle of the day, but I would advise not leaving valuables in the car and rolling up windows, locking doors, etc... There's also pretty good public transit access on the 34 or 39 FAX routes & an Italian market across the street to grab a bite either before or after the museum or if you're waiting to the catch...

My first visit a couple of years ago I was a little put off by the unsavory characters hanging around the parking lot but once inside was blown away by the exhibit. This visit happened to be on a Family Day so there was a food truck, music and kids everywhere. The main exhibit was closed due to the fragile nature of the exhibit and...children. Ah well, I still got to see one exhibit by Jenne Giles that I thought was brilliant. Bravo for having such a thing as Family Day! And for putting on such amazing Fiber Art exhibits.
Iām learning life in my van āBelleā is quite different from life in a trailer which is much more sticks and bricks like with running water and a bathroom and a fridge! Van life is bare bones yet much freer. Itās a road trip every day! Iām sure there will be days when that just loses its appeal entirely but for now it...
