I went to the Men’s fragrance to pick up a pre sale purchase, the person who helped me was clueless. I thought maybe, it was her first day on the job. She didn’t seem to know anything about the fragrances and pretty much told me, she doesn’t know too much because she was out there after the regular people who work fragrances, go home at 6pm ? I thought that was strange. It service was so bad , I asked for a refund of my initial purchase. But wait… it gets better. A couple days later I decided to take my wife back to the Riverpark store. I had explained to my wife what had happened to me previously, so we gave them another chance. To no surprise, we received the same type of service. The person could not answer basic questions about the fragrances and looked just lost. Reluctantly, I did end up buying a fragrance after doing my own research on Google, for the questions I had. I asked the lady if she had any samples to give me and she said “No” without hesitation. By the look on her face, I could tell she wasn’t being truthful. I asked her again and she said “No” . I left it alone and walked around and then came back to browse a bit more around the men’s fragrances. I noticed the person who “helped” me wasn’t there anymore, and a very nice person from Chanel, helped me. Her name was Mina. She was so helpful and knowledgeable, we ended up spending about $400 in products from her. I can’t understand why Macys or that particular store management, would put incompetent or untrained people at those stations. You would think, especially with the cost of fragrances, they would put people who know what they’re doing. I hope management looks at...
Read moreCall me old fashioned, but I appreciate handling store bought goods before purchasing them. A great department store, seemingly holding on as if its business was, say a Thanksgiving Day Parade inflated balloon, Macy's in River Park is busy busy (December 8). Sadly, shopping malls are losing customers to any number of factors. But a well-stocked department store like Macy's has what customers want.
Happily I found a parking spot nearby - a rain storm was overhead. First I checked out departments that I won't mention in case SOMEONE reads this. But the aisles were crowded with shoppers, and plenty of goods were on display. I found a great value and with minimal waiting for a sales clerk, I made my first purchase.
Continuing to browse for possible gifts, I found similar ample inventory and selection, with display items readily stored nearby.
Some items, you have to be there or be square as the old saying goes. Meaning, store buyers guesstimate the items, sizes and volumes thereof based on their internal sales models. Not everybody gets the Palomino pony! But some do.
Macy's has a good selection of A LOT of items, and if you shop early enough in the Christmas rush, you should be able to find gifts within your budget for a wide range of item, styles, colors, patterns, manufacturers etc. Become a regular shopper and receive additional discounts and promotional items. Their sales staff have always been...
Read moreService at Chanel cosmetics is horrible! The woman who "helped" me was peering down her nose at me. I was painting one nail with a sample nail polish to see if the color was right. This was Saturday April 7 at about 7pm. This tall Caucasian lady with light brownish hair piled on her head came by and looked at me as if I was stealing something or doing something wrong. I told her I was deciding between 2 colors and she made an obvious suggestion (I suppose she thinks that me as 35 year old women doesn't the difference between spring and winter colors). But her tone was condescending and she stood hovering over me pressuring me to make a decision as if she were afraid I was going to run off with the sample. Under pressure I went and purchased one nail polish but will be returning it on Monday. I mean buying Chanel cosmetics should be a pleasant experience, and every time I look at this bottle of nail polish I remember that rude sales woman. I used to live in Los Angeles and before the recession purchased Chanel cosmetics all the time. Since the cost of living is cheaper here in Fresno I was going to resume my Chanel cosmetic habit. But I won't now. If they can't hire people who will attend to me gracefully I will be spend my money on cosmetic...
