I love the farmers market, I'm excited to see what spring will bring since I do want to get more produce, I think I only saw mushrooms available there today.
I only purchased from a few of the offerings, they had quite a few different food and beverage companies though and I think it would be a nice place to stop by for lunch and a walk around.
Each of the companies I purchased from were great and even though their products may cost a bit more than through Amazon or at the stores, I like to support small businesses, especially locally owned and operated.
Zubi's - Omgosh, I have been looking for a dairy and soy alternative queso for ages. Theirs is amazing, it's creamy, it's a bit spicy, and it's flavorful. It wasn't gritty either. They also have a salsa and a crema but I honed in on the queso and ended up buying a jar.
Vom FASS - I purchased the lemon extra virgin olive oil and the calamansi balsamic and they came in this adorable bottle set. I haven't tried either before but I asked for a recommendation and he did not disappoint. They have 2 locations in Plano but I haven't heard of them before but never been in the market for either products and probably never would have heard of them if I hadn't seen them at the market... now I want to collect them all, like Pokemon but with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.
Ollio Macarons - I got the essentials since my kid really wanted the raspberry and I wanted to try the lemon but they don't sell them individually. They were delicious. The lemon is still my favorite but they were all adorable and flavorful. The raspberry has a bit of jelly in the middle.
Nature's Nector - They're only there on Sundays but the honey was so good. They sell in various sizes and they have a new lemon honey jar. There's also these luffa (sp?) toys, I got one for my cat and it has feather's attached which he immediately tried to rip out. She also makes custom toys if you're looking for something else in particular. I like that they use everything on their farm to make various products and don't let it go to waste.
Yenisi Beauty - Normally seen at the Dallas market but have made their way to Frisco. There was only hair and body butter, I got the body butter. I tried a sample of it and wondered around for a while, it doesn't absorb quickly since it is shea and cocoa based but it didn't leave my hands feeling greasy after it did. A little does go a long way and the little jar I got will carry me through the next few winters.
Sara Alexandra's Bath Bombs - I probably would have skipped it if they had not had cute bath bombs that caught my kid's attention. There were some that have toys inside, they also sell dog treats and items but since we only have a cat, we skipped that side. The bath bombs smell nice and I didn't realize until just now that 2 have glitter in them. They also offered handmade soap bars, lip balm, and I think a few more items but I can't recall.
Lake Lavon Specialty Foods - I tried their Mayhaw jelly, never heard of it but it tastes like fresh strawberries to me, he said that it tastes different to everyone. He had a lot of different kinds of jam available and various kinds of pickled products also. I tried their jalapeno jam and while it was a kick, I only one fancy jam today.
There were other booths open that I didn't get to visit or purchase from but I'm sure they wouldn't...
Read moreI really wanted to love this, but unfortunately, it’s a no for me. I got one ice cream cone for my kid and one slice of banana bread and it was $17 plus tip. I’m here to support small business, but I was astounded at the price. There were some more reasonably priced items elsewhere, but this was the front shop, and I just cannot fathom that pricing for a child’s treat. The fresh produce may as well have been from the grocery store. There are not farmers selling produce here; at least not when we were there. Rather, it's just a produce reseller. There was no lube music when we were here. They do have very nice porta potties on site (trailer with men’s side and women’s side and three stalls with two sinks and soap with paper towels), but make sure you confirm there's actually water in the sink before you cover your seven year olds hands in the soap....
wow, we were seated at a picnic table (my aunt, my cousin me and my child with our three dogs), someone who worked there came very near to us like within 8 feet, and started dumping powdered ant killer all over the ground. it was windy and the dust blew right over to us and got in my aunt‘s nose, and her dog started scratching its eyes.
We’re just pretty unimpressed. Total meh. I think McKinney hosts a legitimate farmers market. Will try that...

The lemonade stand is the bomb! The prickly pear flavor was absolutely perfect—super refreshing.
There’s also an African clothing store with beautiful, stylish pieces for women. Everything was vibrant and unique.
I also picked up Pour Girl Wine—I love it! Great to sip and amazing to cook with.
Mary Ella’s Toffee is always a treat. Every bite has the perfect mix of sweetness and crunch.
And don’t miss Fabulous Foodie—her spice blends are incredible. I use them all the time in my kitchen.
And the fish place? So good! Fresh, flavorful, and fried right but just needed to be fried a little bit longer for that crunch. And the tartar sauce needs a new recipe. I’ll definitely be going back and will pair it with my tartar sauce lol.
Abrams Food Company was so good—fresh, flavorful, and mixed just right. And don’t sleep on their dressing! It’s great on fruit, salad… honestly, it goes on anything. I even tried it with vodka—surprisingly delicious!
Such a great mix of vendors....
