Yes, Frisco Main Street construction is a nightmare—but I’m telling you, DEAL WITH IT. Take the back roads, zig-zag around, whatever you have to do… because Dad Jokes Cheesyburger is SOOOO worth it. This charming new hotspot is exactly what Frisco needed: a quirky, nostalgic, family-owned burger joint that serves up incredible food with heart and humor.
I first heard about this gem on Facebook and had been meaning to try it. One Sunday evening, my husband and I found ourselves kid-free and starving, and we decided a cheeseburger sounded perfect. That’s when I remembered Dad Jokes Cheesyburger—and I’m so glad I did!
We rolled up about an hour before closing and were immediately wowed by the cozy, family-friendly outdoor seating. Inside, the vibes were immaculate—think vintage trinkets, quirky decor, and a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that feels like your childhood burger joint had a glow-up.
We placed an order for Togo. We each built our own burgers: I went classic with lettuce, cheese, mustard, bacon, and grilled onions, and my husband went full beast mode with a monster creation from their long list of toppings. We also grabbed a small order of both fries and tots to share—because you have to try both—and let me tell you, we didn’t leave a single crumb. Everything is made fresh to order, with no seed oils, and you can absolutely taste the quality in every bite.
Oh—and a fun surprise? They carry Dublin Root Beer (yes, THE Dublin Root Beer), and my husband just about burst with excitement. We had to grab one to go, of course.
As we were about to leave, the friendly staff offered us a sample of Henry’s Ice Cream, and… wow. Next time, we’re saving room.
This place is a small-town burger dream come true—the kind of local treasure you want to shout about from the rooftops. The pricing is totally reasonable (comparable to everywhere else in Frisco, but with way better food), and the experience is just unmatched.
As I write this, I’m already craving another burger. Seriously, get out there and support this family-run spot—you’ll be so glad you did.
Go. Eat. Enjoy. Tell your friends. And yes—brave the...
Read moreWe went out of our way to come to this restaurant based on the reviews. The burgers were good, but not fantastic, and when you pair that with cold fries - there just isn’t enough draw for us to drive all the way over there again.
I went here with my son and we ordered 2 double smash burgers, a double BBQ burger, 1 order of fries, and some tator tots. The total came to around $38. We split each burger so we could try more items, and honestly, it was a good thing we did - otherwise one of us might have ended up with a meal we didn’t enjoy.
I personally didn’t care for the smashburger, but I liked the BBQ burger. That surprised me because I thought it would be the other way around. The BBQ burger reminded me of a sloppy joe with the BBQ flavor and green peppers mixed in, and for my son, it was the opposite - he didn’t like the BBQ burger but liked the smashburger.
The biggest disappointment was the fries. They weren’t just lukewarm, they were completely cold. That left a bad impression because I feel like fries are a make or break item for a burger spot. On the other hand, the tator tots were a hit - my son kept complimenting them all the way home.
We didn’t try the ice cream, but it looked amazing. It had this unique, almost exotic look that stood out compared to typical ice cream places.
As for the place itself, the pictures online felt a little deceiving. I expected a big burger restaurant, but it turned out to be more of a hole in the wall. It’s small, and with two large rental AC blowers running (since there’s no central AC), there wasn’t much sit-down space. That said, the AC units kept the place cool enough and everything was organized pretty well. It just gets crowded easily because of the limited tables.
The staff was friendly, which I appreciated, but overall, the cold fries stood out as the low point of the visit and will likely keep us from coming back. When you drive the distance to a new burger place, and pay $38 for 2 combos, bad tasting cold fries will ruin your experience.
I am going to still give 4 stars, since this is a new business startup, and everyone deserves a...
Read moreReview: Dad Jokes Cheesyburgers – Where the Flavor’s as Bold as the Puns
If you’re the kind of person who believes the best burgers come with a side of personality, then Dad Jokes Cheesyburgers is exactly your kind of place. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special.
Let’s talk about Clayton , the main burger chef. If I were judging a book by its cover (and let’s be honest, we all do), Clayton is exactly who I’d want manning the grill. He gives off pure “cheesy dad joke burger king” energy in the best possible way. You can just tell that this guy was born to flip patties and drop puns.
The Burger: Smoke Stack
I had been craving this burger since I first saw photos online and it did not disappoint. The patties looked like the perfect marriage between smashed and thick, which is a hard balance to strike. One bite and it was clear: this burger was JUICY. I’m talking drip-down-your-wrist, flavor-packed, made-with-love kind of juicy.
The Smoke Stack comes loaded: • Chuck patties • Smoked brisket • Cheddar cheese • Lettuce, pickles • And the highlight for me: grilled jalapeños
Those jalapeños weren’t an afterthought, they were thinly sliced, charred just right, and added this smoky kick that regular burger joints just don’t deliver. And the BBQ sauce? Sweet, balanced, and designed to play perfectly with the heat of the peppers and the richness of the brisket.
You could taste the quality in every ingredient. Nothing about this felt phoned in. From the premium meat to the thoughtful layering of flavors, this was a next-level burger experience.
⸻
Final Verdict: Clayton and his team are doing something special at Dad Jokes Cheesyburgers. If you’re a fan of dad humor, handcrafted burgers, and unapologetically bold flavor, this spot is a must. I’ll be back. Probably...
