T C Shaved Ice — Restaurant in Frisco

Horribly offensive customer service from Oscar who identified himself as the manager. He is beyond rude and wants to make it clear that he doesn't care even if you do. He acused me of being rude when I asked the cashier if it was understood what I meant by "flat top" a term I was told by a drive thru attendant at Bahama Bucks to use whenever I order shaved ice since I don't prefer the top part. The truth is that I always end up with the top part in my lap. Thinking that they might use an alternate term and maybe "flattop" didn't apply to their location I asked the cashier this question. Then Oscar whom I had never addressed, suddenly grabs my order back, says I don't have to be rude about it and start shoveling the ice mound off of my cup of ice. He scraped the sides so nonchalantly there were bits of styrofoam in my cup. A little background...I have come here several times and I order non flavored shaved ice everytime, except the last two times I've asked for the flat top. The first time they didn't do it and I just went about my way. Infact it was just a week ago. So back today, when I realized that Oscar's negative attitude and statement about being rude was directed at me I advised I was not being rude and began to explain my questioning. He readily pounced and started over talking me while saying that I was. I asked for the name of the owner, not willing to continue as it was clear he was picking a fight. He refused to give it to me saying "we don't give out numbers like that" and that he was the manager. I advised I didnt ask for the number but for the owner's name. He still refused. I then turned to the cashier to ask if I had offended her and she said "no" still I apologize to her if in anyway I had. Moreso, I was grateful to hear her say no, because she has literally been the cashier every time I've come there. Not sure if the Manager had even heard me earlier sharing with the cashier that I was trying to keep my husband who was on the phone from hearing my order, because he hates that I eat so much ice. To which she had smiled as I eased her my card in a playful secret. I asked Oscar for his name to which he said "I will spell it for you in case you can't spell". I explained to him that if anything is, his statement to me regarding his name is what is concidered rude, and I left. I plan to locate the owner asap and hope he hears my heart as prior posting I noticed other posts about poor customer service at this location. It is great that this place is open year round, but unfortunately I will not...

This place is good for shaved ice. They have other things like fruit, ice cream and other Mexican treats like corn in a cup and tamales but I have only tried the shaved ice. Most of the shaved ice flavors we are interested in are good (blueberry, pina colada, raspberry, lemon, cherry) but there are a few flavors we have branched out and tried that were not very good and kinda make you wonder if the owners have tried their own flavors and why they don't find new sources for ice flavors that are actually good tasting. For example tuti fruity was supposed to taste like "fruit punch" but in fact taste nothing like fruit anything and has a bad aftertaste peach was the same way IMO. After 2 bad flavors I stopped experimenting with new flavors and stick to the few basics. This is a decent little spot that they could do so much more with if they spruced the inside up a little and cleaned the waiting area up a little more as well. I just walked into this location, with my children. There was no one at the counter. We waited a couple of minutes. Then a female , who was sitting at a table eating, gets up and walks behind the counter. She wiped her mouth and hands with a napkin. Then, she thew it on the table behind the counter. She stood at the left end of the counter. We were standing at the middle of the counter. A couple of minutes go by…She never acknowledged us..no hello. No eye contact. Nothing. PLUS, she never washed her hands prior to standing at the register 🥴 We walked out without ordering. What kind of customer service is this? I have been to the Garland and Plano locations without issues. This was weird, nasty and rude all in one. This happened on 7.9.20205 at 2:33 pm.
