I've been going to the Revel since it was Grovers and the Resevoir. Before tonight I would have given it a solid 4+ star review. Since Covid died down, there business has picked up. On the weekends they have live bands and charge a cover, typically $15. They have an online reservation where you can pay a premium to reserve tables, but you have to purchase every seat at the table and most are for 6, with a few 4 top. Couples are stuck at the bar or a side rail. I know not to go on busy nights unless we have friends going and can reserve a table. Tonight was a very average band, I looked online and the 4 tops were taken, but almost all of the 6 tops were available. My wife and I decided to go and take our chances. We got there about 745 and We were told that even though there were plenty of OpenTables, they were being saved for parties of 6. We got a bar stool along the wall, had some drinks and ordered food. Around 920 i went to the hostess station. While waiting a group of 4 with no reservations came in and said they wanted a table together. She sat them at a 6 top table. When she returned I asked if we and another couple next to us could get one of the open tables. She told me to give her about 5 min and she'd see what she could do. The band started late. Around 945. She never came. After 10, there were still 4 open 6 tops and a 4 top near us. My wife and I moved to one of the tables. Our waiter told us we couldn't sit there. It was reserved for big parties. I pointed to all the open tables and he said he'd ask the hostess. She came to the table and didn't remember me or that she had said she'd see about getting us a table over 30 min earlier. She told us the table was reserved. My wife said that all of the reserved tables had numbers on them. She lied to us and told us she had just removed the number and that the people called and said they were running late and we had to move. Not only had there not been a number on the table, you have to make reservations before 4pm. And if you aren't there by 830, you lose your table. There was also another 6 top with one person by himself that had came from the bar and no one said anything to him. At that point I was PISSED. I asked for our check and they couldn't have cared less. We left a little after 10pm. On the way out we ran into some friends, told the what happened and that we were going to Sherlocks. They later came to Sherlocks and told us that no one ever sat at the open tables and after the first set around 1030 many people left.
Dear management, I've posted dozens of times on social media about how I've enjoyed watching bands at the Revel, especially during Covid, i have spent a LOT of money there on food and drinks, but tonight you have lost both a loyal customer and supporter. The hostess and waiter were both rude, and the hostess flat out lied. The reservation system sucks unless you have 4 or 6 people in your group. We would have gladly sat with other people. I will no longer be recommending this place.

Read moremy family and i came to this restaurant to participate in the $1000 progressive bingo night (2/11/25). we’ve never been here before, so we weren’t sure how much everything was. we were told that it was happy hour all night, and that there were $2.50 & $3.50 tacos. sounds awesome, right? so, our waitress, makayla, approached our table and asked us what we’d like to get started with. we asked her how much the shots of tequila were (specifically Don Julio), regarding the happy hour specials. she said they’re around $7-$8. us being happy with the prices she said, we ordered three of them. after that, we ordered some tacos.. those were ok. then, we asked her how much are the margaritas. she said around $5 or so with a little extra $ on top with the type of tequila we were wanting to use (Don Julio). okay.. perfect. we ordered two of them. after this, we got the three sampler platter, with 2 red beans and rice & 1 corn chowder. both really good. we enjoyed the music bingo (didn’t win though), it was fun. shortly after bingo was over, makayla comes back with the tab… and it’s totaled $131! we’re over here shocked like, what did we order? then our attention goes to the price of the shots. each shot was priced at $14.25 on the tab. both margaritas were ALSO priced at $14.25 on the tab. this is a little over $70 on JUST drinks that were supposed to be “$7-$8” according to our waitress makayla. so of course, we brought it to her attention. she said she was gonna go see what she can do regarding the pricing on the system when she rings it up. she comes back about a minute later with the same tab, and says that “there’s nothing she can do because that’s what the system rings up as happy hour prices.” of course we find this VERY unprofessional & inconsiderate because we ordered these drinks due to her “knowledge” of the prices of the drinks. she was very dismissive and didn’t even care. just throwing prices around all willy-nilly is crazy. she didn’t even apologize. 😂 we then had to approach another waiter, and he suggested taking off the price of one of the items (discounting $14.25)… bringing the tab down to $115. and of course, us not wanting to cause much more of an inconvenience, we just paid for it. but her tip was only $10. and this is because she didn’t care that she misinformed us. she didn’t care to try to make any accommodations. she just simply said that it is what it is. what would she do if we just so happened could not afford the tab? then there would be a problem, right? i definitely wouldn’t go back to this place. and if you come here, DO NOT listen to the waiters or waitresses when it comes to the pricing of their drinks or shots. because more than likely, they’re going to lie to you to get you to spend. be sure to ask them to ring it up and come back with the price before you buy or drink anything. severely...
Read moreI enjoy coming to the dueling pianos! Always so funny, good drinks & food, fun, and a great atmosphere! However, I am very dissatisfied with my most recent trip on Friday 2/3, hence the 3 stars. My mom was visiting from out of town so I figured dueling pianos would be a good evening activity. I reside in Addison so I could have easily picked several other places, but decided to go to Revel. We purchased GA tickets at the door and were sat at the rail top. Dueling Pianos goes from 530-830. Around 715, a rather large group of people showed up & were sat next to us at the rail top... and they continued to grow as the minutes ticked by. Soon, they were in our space (we showed up at 6 PM). Around 730, we were approached by the host who asked if we wouldn't mind moving because the group next to us had complained multiple times to management that they wanted the entire rail top for their party, but because we were sitting there, they couldn't have it. She also informed us that they had came EARLY for their party reservation time, but had requested they all be seated together (at this point, there were PLENTY of other open tables). We ended up leaving immediately. I understand that Revel always books a second event to dueling pianos, however, being that we PAID general admission to get in... we shouldn't have to move from our seats because a party DECIDED to show up early and the host choose to sit us there. I hate that management allowed this happen and made the poor host take care of the matter. She was completely sweet and begged us not to leave, but by then, I was very annoyed that management didn't do anything about it. This shows a lot about the management here, which is a shame because before this, I've never had any issues. I've always experienced great service from the staff. But all customers should matter whether it's 1 person or 15. Not sure if...
