"I visited Zero Latency VR a few weeks ago (Friday, November 15th) and had one of the best nights ever!"
I had one of the best nights ever at Zero Latency VR! The staff, Angel and Justin, were absolutely amazing—they even stayed late so our group could finish our games since we were the last ones there. Huge shoutout to them for going above and beyond!
At first, I was a little nervous about joining strangers, but everyone made me feel so welcome. It was like we’d all been friends for ages. That made the experience even more fun and relaxing.
The setup wasn’t quite what I expected. I thought it would be a custom-built room with physical obstacles matching the game environment. Instead, it was a big open room with no barriers. But honestly? It worked. Moving freely in such a large space while fully immersed in the game felt incredible, and I forgot all about the lack of physical barriers.
I played two games: the Warhammer 40K one and the zombie one. As a Warhammer fan, blasting swarms of Tyranids with big guns and flamethrowers was thrilling, though it felt a little less intense because many enemies are smaller than you. The zombie game, on the other hand, really stole the show. Having zombies rush at you and get right in your face made it much scarier and more adrenaline-pumping. Plus, the variety of weapons, like shotguns and machine guns, added to the fun—I definitely panicked a few times!
After those games, the staff surprised us with a bonus session of multiplayer, where we split into teams (3v2) and played against each other. That was wild! Ducking, weaving, hiding behind cover, and strategizing felt like being in a live version of games like Counter-Strike or Apex Legends. Except this time, you are the controller. It’s hard to explain just how cool and immersive it was—you’ve got to try it yourself.
Overall, Zero Latency VR is not your typical VR café. The free-roaming aspect really sets it apart. There’s no motion sickness (except maybe a little when you’re walking near cliffs or bridges in the game—it tricks your brain!). Just watch out for bumping into others when you’re moving too fast. The in-game warning system helps, but excitement gets the better of you sometimes.
A little backstory: I booked the experience through a Groupon my fiancée got me almost a year ago, and I wanted to use it before it expired. The staff were incredibly accommodating and let me book two games even though the coupon was technically for one session. When I showed up late and rushed, they reassured me I had time, as they were running behind. That gave me a chance to grab food and come back relaxed.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves games, whether you’re into VR or not. It’s perfect for an unforgettable game night with friends, and even if you go solo, you’ll have an amazing time. Zero Latency VR delivers a unique, heart-pounding experience that I’ll...
Read morevery gimmicky. you might enjoy doing it once but it's missing too much to be worth the price spent. biggest issues:
you can't see anything and have to run around a room with up to 8 different players. what's worse is if you don't book a session with 8 players, random people are allowed to join. so you'll have to try to avoid strangers who might decide to just run blind across the room.
the game glitches and freezes out as your playing, ruining the immersion.
The experience is really nothing to write home about, you sit there pointing and shooting, making it feel like a VR arcade game. It does not feel like a real gaming experience.
It's interesting enough that you might want to try it once, but it's not worth the price. you're better off saving the money towards a real VR headset and playing real VR games at home. It will be safer and more of a full gaming experience. if you've done the VR experience at dave and busters, it's a lot better and much...
Read moreBoyfriend and I went a few weeks ago. We showed up a little bit early and they got us going right away (we went in the middle of the week so it was pretty slow for them I think). It was a ton of fun! We both loved it. Our guide was great and it was just the 2 of us in the match. We played one of the zombie survival games. Reminded me of Killing Floor!
The gun was a bit heavy but we got one of the longest sessions- 45 minutes total (which I think is about 30 minutes of play time).
My boyfriend wears glasses but took them off for the match and had no trouble seeing anything, which was something I had been concerned about beforehand. He's near sighted, for reference, in case anyone is wondering how it'll affect gameplay. He said he was fine without his glasses though.
Anyway, great experience, and since we went in the middle of the week we got a discount on the tickets- it was a fantastic value and we'll...
