UPDATE 4/10/2024 ———————————— Food, service, and ambiance- right on point for this (and all other previous) visits. We were welcomed at the hostess desk by Cameron. She asked us if we were celebrating anything special and I told her that every year on April 10th my Mom and I commemorate my Dad's life at what were - at some point in time - his favorite restaurants.
I am so glad we chose III Forks because we were truly looked after very well by our server Andrew. We thought he was delightful. He hasn't completed one year, and yet he was extremely knowledgeable about the Menu. He was engaging, attentive, and friendly while suggesting menu items that were new additions since we last dined here (for my Mom's birthday and again for the seasonal Copper River Salmon back in June of 2023).
Gotta have bread and butter for the table and it was absolutely worth every bite. Love the touch of the coarse sea salt directly on the pat. We started things off with the Ketel One Mule. Just the right amount of spiciness from the ginger beer, and flavor of vodka and lime juice. Ordered the Diver Scallops with Bacon Jam (excellent), followed by the III Forks Salad without the Bleu Cheese (also excellent), the 6oz Filet Mignon with all the fixins (cream corn, snap peas, and whipped potatoes with tomatoes and green onions), the 8oz Strip Filet with a succulent Lobster Tail, an order of Six Cheese Potatoes, and Mandarin Orange and Chocolate Ganache for Dessert. Had to box up the remainder of the Steak as well as the Dessert, but we enjoyed every bite the following afternoon and thought that the food quality has increased since last time.
Never a bad meal here - this time was markedly different in a good way! And - we will continue the three-times-a-year tradition and indulge whenever we choose. Love the energy here and the vibrance of the intimate dining space. Bonus points for being less than 2 miles (and right around the corner) from our home. I would definitely request Andrew the next time we dine here! Launa visited our table during our meal and it was great to see her again! Chef Chris knows what he is doing and it is clear that his culinary skills truly shine and are a testament to his commitment and high standards of excellence. ———————————————————————————— We were just here celebrating my Mother’s 73rd Birthday on 6/3/2023 and it was exquisite, so naturally when Donald, our server, mentioned that very evening that they were going to receive their seasonal shipment of Copper River Salmon by the following week, we knew we had to try it. There is a reason we keep III Forks on our short list of restaurants. We are semi-regulars because we appreciate the ambiance, professional work ethic, and attentive tableside service.
Started things off with a Love Potion each for cocktails and split a III Forks Salad (without the bleu cheese) for an appetizer. Initially, we were told by Mike, our server, that they were completely sold out of the Copper River Salmon. I was visibly crushed, but it turned out that they had ONE left in the back. Talk about timing! It was absolutely divine, not to mention THE highlight of the evening. Flavorful and perfect temp with Asparagus Spears and Cilantro Basmati Rice with a Caper Beurre Blanc. Worth the wait! On this night, Sarah was the hostess. Launa and Melissa also checked on us at our table during our meal. Mom enjoyed her Chilean Sea Bass. Both excellent. Thank you for a memorable evening once again! We will see you again...
Read moreThe 5 star review people are clearly not customers who really know what fine dining is about. Save your money and go to Perry’s, chamberlains, a Brazilian steakhouse, or even Hudson house. This place is a rip off for the quality.
My experience below: Horrible!! Fine dining at it’s worse!! I don’t see how this place is still open. The staff seems nice and attentive, but the food is horrible. Please also keep your kids away. They served us from frozen chicken tenders for our 1 year old and when we expressed our concern (never faced frozen chicken at a fine dining restaurant) the waitress didn’t even offer to take them back. We eventually had to ask her to remove them, and then had to ask the manager to remove the order from the check when it came. (something that should’ve been taken care of without us asking, but the waitress didn’t care to do so). The waitress also messed up my wife’s salad order. How hard is that? Not messed up like put in the wrong order, she knew the order and wrote it correctly they just brought the wrong thing as they said they couldn’t make salad with chicken because all their chicken is either frozen or from hens. They offered an alternative but did not have one similar to the order she originally took. A fine dining restaurant that doesn’t have a fresh chicken breast for a salad? How can you charge what you charge on your menu? The kids order was not cheap either; Perry’s, Chamberlains, and almost any 20+ per plate restaurant offer hand-breaded tenders for half the price silver fox charges. Another thing that rubs salt in the wound; if you are offering lower quality then charge lower quality prices.
Now don’t get me wrong, as mentioned before, the staff is actually really nice. It’s like they know your about to get some limited food options for an inflated price, so they kill you with kindness. But nothing is really going on beyond their smiles. They aren’t doing anything to accommodate the frozen tenders or the mistaken order. They couldn’t even give us the correct WiFi password to help keep our starving baby distracted until we finished and got out of there. They sent over about 6 different people with the wrong damn password. I mean come on, how hard is that? Somebody in that building had to know the real password. The bus boys and food runners were very kind, professional and smiling at you. But we did not go out for a nice dinner just to talk to nice people. We wanted to eat actual fine dining food. If I could give a 1.5 star just for their surrounding staff I would, but even a 2 star review would not be fair due to the core issues. Food bad. Options bad. And guest accommodations non existent.
They are clearly more worried about profits then customer satisfaction. Half the party left hungry and it was too late for us to eat elsewhere so we just went home hungry. Not what you expect when dining at a 50+ per restaurant. They may have a sector of “the every day diners” fooled, but not me. Decent ambiance and professional smiling can only take you so far. Fix your fundamental issues or you will not last. I will continue spreading the word to all my...
Read moreLet me start this review with I left the restaurant in tears, mostly out of complete disrespect. Let me also say that I have now purchased 5 cakes from III Forks and the first three were spectacular, not to mention my husband and I eat at this restaurant once every three months. Now I am not sure what has gone wrong in the past two years but the service has diminished severely. Last year I purchased my anniversary cake and to say disappointment crossed my mind is an understatement. I'msure everyone can understand this is what last year's cake looked like, a most certainly version of "nailed it." Now this year I was a little more particular when ordering. I didn't ask for special writing or over the top decorations, just simply stated I would like it nicely decorated, and I let the young lady know it would be for our anniversary. Maybe in hopes to make it a bit special. Well 2017 has not disappointed, it has DEMOLISHED my hopes that it would be great. I have posted a picture of all 5 cakes with dates. This year was plain and I mean very plain. To be honest I was upset but not nearly as upset with the cake as I was with the lack of customer service. I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. I waited for about 3-5 minutes to even be acknowledged that I was there. The bartender was working right in front of me and never greeted me or asked to help, the manager himself walked right past me, never said a word. Maybe it was bbecause i wasnt dressed to "the nines," as i was going home to get ready for our get together only wearing a tshirt, capris and flip flops. It wasn't until a woman came from the back and asked if I had been helped. I explained to her I was there to pick up my cake I ordered and she had to speak with the manager, the same manager that walked past me. So my cake comes out and I want to pay cash, it's 3:15pm and they can not cash me out for a $43 cake with me handing them $60. So credit card it is. Then I looked at the caked and tell the woman how disappointed I am not for the 2nd year in a row. At which point the manager comes out and proceeds to argue with me, telling me they do not have a pastry chef nor do they decorate. I asked have they ever done so in the past, as I knew they have because of the first 3 I have purchased. He proceeds to tell me they only make tasty desserts not necessarily pretty desserts. Folks I am going to have to find a new place for my husband and I to frequent even for dinner because I refuse to do business here any longer. Please take a look at...
