Skate Station Funworks of Orange Park — Attraction in Fruit Cove

I was very happy with the service provide for my daughters birthday party. Our host Tommy was wonderful. He was on top of all our needs. The kids had fun and it was a successful party. The management team was amazing as well. I had a party guest lose her keys and they searched high and low for them.

The only reason why I gave this a 4 star review was due to 3 things. The bathrooms where absolutely disgusting. The women’s bathroom had water all over the floor. The toilets would not flush. And the overwhelming smell of urine was awful. From what I was told about the men’s bathroom it was just as bad. The hand washing area had no soap, paper towels or hand sanitizer.

I purchase the blockbuster package for the party this included mini golf, rock wall and skating. As well as the arcade. Half of the arcade games had out of order signs on them and where turned off. I had a lot of parents complain that when they finally got to the game it would eat the token and not let them play.

Lack of skate assist walkers. When I booked the party I told the person I booked with that I would have about 20 kids and I’m not sure how many of them could skate unassisted. She reassured me that I would be able to have all the walkers. Although we had all the walkers we did not have enough about 5 kids couldn’t skate as they didn’t have a walker. (Now I know the kids could of shared but have you ever tried to have 20 6-8 year olds share anything at a party?!)

Overcharged for low quality "fun" and unsafe.

My first and last time here.

When first arriving the place literally looks abandoned. I found it odd that we had to sign a waiver before being allowed to enter the building. We were only there for mini golf.

A big red flag was the security guard who was accompanied by police checking bags once walking inside. Clearly the clientele is unruly.

The entire place reaked of Marijuana which is questionable considering the amount of children present.

The mini golf was $28 for two people and let me just say the course was an absolute mess. There is zero upkeep. The landscaping hasn't been touched and everything is dead. There's dirt, mulch,leaves, twigs and everything else litering the course making it difficult to play. There was not much fun to be had playing there.

Halfway through the golf course, 4 cops cars come rushing up to the building with lights and sirens on. Sounded like some sort of fight going on with a bunch of yelling.

Once I was done with the mini golf I made a bee line for the door to get away from the mess of a business only to be told that I had to wait to leave because of the police issues outside.

No, I didn't wait. I walked passed him and let myself out. You can't keep me inside a business when I want to leave.

I’m writing this review to recognize Heaven Higgins, the manager of Skate Station, for her exceptional work and leadership. I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand the energy, care, and commitment she brings to the job—day in and day out.

Heaven goes above and beyond in every aspect of her role. Whether it’s managing a busy team, solving problems on the fly, interacting positively with guests, or keeping the entire facility running smoothly, she does it all with professionalism, grace, and heart. She’s often the first to arrive and the last to leave, ensuring everything from customer satisfaction to employee coordination is handled with excellence. And in a high-energy environment like Skate Station, that’s no small feat.

What’s more impressive is that she continues to give 100% despite being severely underpaid and clearly overworked. It's rare to see someone hold a team together so well under such pressure. She deserves more than just acknowledgment—she deserves a raise and a workload that matches a healthy, sustainable job environment. A leader like Heaven brings long-term value to this business, and it would be a mistake not to reward and retain her properly.
