First I called to check the happy hour special. I was told over the phone that happy hour was all night. When I arrive and am seated with a server who not only doesn’t understand English, is hard of hearing! I had to ask for Ranch sauce 4 times with the last time being with a random server as they walked by. The salsa was very spicy and watered down. Our server had no idea about the happy hour or the prices. I went to the bar to ask and was told that happy hour is only from 11-5pm and that that the frozen margs are not on the happy hour at all. At the end of the night all the drinks ended up being the happy hour price so at least we got something. Then it all went downhill, a creeper showed up and was trying to get my young daughter’s attention while we were playing with her, he finally left after my wife won the staring contest between them. Did I mention the “waitress/manager”came over and was wiping him down with a cloth, weird. He then left to the bar and starting talking to a random Spanish guy who was drinking a beer, then both started looking our way. After a bit he left to the other bar by the front and eventually left altogether. The random male he was talking to chugged the last of his beer and left shortly after. We didn’t make a scene and just tried to close out. Eventually after paying the “waitress/manager” came over to “check on us”. Not sure why she ever came over and asked if there was a problem unless the 3 of them, maybe more, are working together in some child/human trafficking ring. The “waitress/manager” tried to say he was a drunk who had never been there before and she had never seen before and that he didn’t know the guy at the bar. Why are you wiping down a stranger with a cloth and not telling them to leave unless you know this person? How did you know to come over and talk to us? Why when we are speaking in Spanish to you are you suddenly changing to Portuguese after we call you out about wiping his face like you know the guy. #redflags We will NEVER come back to this restaurant and urge everyone with children to avoid...
Read moreWe stopped by NO MANCHES on Saturday after finishing our day of errands. We had been to this restaurant before when it was Jimmy Hulas (and that place wasn't good)
The interior of the restaurant is bright and cheerful. It's clean and the walls are adorned with some amazing artwork of World Cup moments, FIFA athletes and women's soccer moments. It's quite impressive! There's a bar and several televisions broadcasting sporting events. We had arrived just as happy hour had begun and while we didn't partake, they had an excellent selection of beers. The server brought some fresh chips and some perfectly seasoned salsa. I like a bit of salt on my chips and these had none but they were fresh and crunchy and the salsa was mild but glavorful. The menu is large but its divided into different selections: salads, burritos, tacos etc--but everything is clearly explained in the menu and its not at all overwhelming. For me, it was a hard decision between the enchilada trio: beef, shredded chicken and bean/cheese or the California Burrito--at the servers recommendation I chose the California Burrito and it did NOT disappoint! It was a large Burrito stuffed with the most tender chicken and covered in an amazingly delicious queso blanco!!!! Soooo good!
My husband ordered the Mexicano Burrito which was half beef/half chicken, but included a liberal amount of diced jalapeños and covered in the same queso Blanco but had a salsa Verde as well as a zesty red sauce. ANNNND...the if it couldn't get any better, we also ordered the Mexican Street Corn (Elote) and that was the perfect side to our burritos! It was grilled, had the perfect amount of seasonings and cheese. It definitely left us wanting MORE!!!! The staff was super friendly, our glasses were never empty and we WILL be returning soon to try their Carne asada which everyone was raving about!!!!
This IS authentic Mexican food in Orange Park and I guarantee that...
Read moreWe aren’t ones to always go out to eat with 3 kids. Two that are under two but sometimes we to would like a break with a meal cooked for us and good service. I’ve been here three times, the first time was the best because they were extremely slow, second time was the busiest and not a great experience with service, and the third time was not to busy but not slow and I was just ready to take my food home instead of eating out. After a hour waiting and noticing everyone around us who got there after us, getting their food already, and still not getting our guacamole and queso appetizer. We ask the waitress if we can get our appetizer and then she checked to make sure the ticket was put in and she said it was and the food will be right out. When that didn’t happen for another 20 minutes I just asked for our food to be put in boxes and the two lady waitresses didn’t seem too happy, maybe from the thought they got something wrong, I don’t know. I was very respectful just ready to leave after a hour of waiting. Another man came to help and was very kind and made it right. He then mentioned the waitresses fault for not getting the ticket in. He said “ask for Victor next time.” I believed the kitchen over the server because she also never checked on us or asked for refills prior but her personality was very quiet, mixed with, I don’t get paid enough to be here vibe and then lied about the ticket. Well if she would have a better attitude towards her job I would be more likely to feel better about being forgotten about, and she would have gotten my tip because I sympathize with the hard working servers that don’t get tipped enough. So if you are patient and aren’t on a time crunch, I would love this place because the food is great. I love leaving good reviews but this is for the service hoping they’ll get it together or find someone with a better attitude. Just ask...
