We donated 40 plus to this so called place but they will not get another penny. This is horrible Hatian food. The peas and rice are very, very, very dry. I ordered the Chicken Nan Sos but the chicken fried as that was an option. Unfortunately when the food arrived home it was stewed. I hate anything stewed!!! When I called, the gentleman I spoke to acted like I was making up the option to have the chicken fried was even on the website. That is terrible customer service. Going back and forth with him just made things worse. No sir, I am not driving all the way back from Fleming Island to fight traffic on Blanding again for old food that we just received. I don't even think he knew what the website stated the order options were. My husband ordered the rib barbecue (1421) online and they did not have that food item when he got there at 1445. That's crazy. Cabbage was on the menu online and that wasn't in house in the restaurant. Bottom line, I tried to enjoy the beans and rice of which I love and they were soooooo dry. Like they had them under the heater for too long waiting on customers. This review is to help other customers so they won't waste monies or expensive gas for terrible food when you try to support local business. Go support a different local business that will not disappoint. Maybe this place was delicious when they were a food truck but they are yeck. We threw the rice in the garage it was too dry to enjoy. Hubby tried to eat his, lol...
Read moreThere aren't many haitian restaurants in Jax so finding that this place had just opened up I decided to drive from saint Augustine to give them a try. To start off I will say even though they advertise themselves as a carribbean restaurant this is a Haitian restaurant that makes authentic Haitian food. Therefore you can not expect to get authentic jerk chicken or authentic curry because that is not native to our culture. Moving on, I went there yesterday and had the legume which is a mixture of eggplant, cabbage and various meat such as beef and pork ( all depends on whatever they choose) served along with a side of white rice and black beans, I placed an order for 3 of those. I also placed an order for a griot and fried plantains. I am a cook myself and I cater at times for different events, so I know a little about food and a lot about haitian food. My gawd there food is delicious. My entire family ( 4 kids, my husband and cousin) were fighting for more food. This food took me way back to haiti to where I would spend my summers and enjoy my grandmother's cooking. I woke up this morning with their food on my mind. 😆 I will be there this weekend. *I didn't get to take a picture of the food because once I took a bite of the griot I lost sense of time and space and could not stop eating to take a picture lol. Food was the best I've had...
Read moreUpdate to unprofessional owner I have no reason to lie. I said what I said. Funny how you edited your initial response only to come back and call me a liar. I don't have to show you everything I plated. However there's no mistaking YOU HAVE ROACHES IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD!! Since you want to get on here and attack customers for telling the truth... I will be contacting the health department/department of regulation
There was a ROACH fried in my food!!! I have patronized this establishment a few times and for the most part I've always had good experiences. Tonight on 7/31/24 at approximately 6:40pm I stopped in and placed an order for a griot plate to go. When I got home, everything looked normal upon first glance. I poured on the pikliz and started putting the food on a regular plate. When I came back for another scoop and stirred the rest of the griot I saw a huge Roach fried into the food. I threw everything on the plate and the remaining food in the container away. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!! You guys need to close for a few days and thoroughly CLEAN THAT...
