I am honestly going to share the downfalls to this popular spot that are supposed to be the standards of visiting a public park during normal hours of use. I love the locality and views at this location. I did visit early morning until about noon, estimated time I guess 7am-11:30am. First thing that I was frustrated with is the restrooms, I believe there is a lower and upper level set of restrooms as well as the parking. I know that the parks send someone usually to maintain and open/close them during the appropriate hours but not when I was there! I even observed the worker who was doing things around the park like picking up trash and changing out bags and even entering what looked like a custodial room that was next to the restrooms he was in and out of for about 30 mins and he was back to his truck just sitting on his phone and snoozing for a few.... More than 5 park visitors, I saw, tried entering the restrooms during this time I was there and they, as well, seemed frustrated that the restrooms were closed.... Is this park not dog friendly? I searched for doggy poop bags or even a sign that might be posted cause I didn't want to be rude to other park visitors if dogs weren't allowed but I didn't come across nothing... The people here are very uhhhhh not so friendly. It's like everyone was in they're secluded bubble and quickly ready to pass up the next walker faster and everyone was so serious lol. I'm a friendly person and quite respectful of people and pets and I don't really try to complain but this was my experience and though I wont be visiting anytime soon I do think this that it's a beautiful spot and for the most part clean. They have parking and upper seating but the little walking path or stairs are very rough so be cautious cause there are no signs to warn you of unstable, unsafe areas. Don't let my review discourage your adventure just take away from it as a precautionary tip!...
Read moreHill crest is a really big park. There are plenty of trees so there is plenty of shade during the afternoon. There are a variety of trails that can be used for workouts. Expect uphills and downhills to exercise those legs. There are plenty of hiking trails that you can perform around the park. It also has some parkings areas inside the park. But i advice you to get out before 9pm before the lock the gates. And you will be driving around inside without no exit. Thankfully i was able to lift some chains to get out. Park staff is really nowhere to be seen at times. There are some areas where people smoke but who wouldnt with that amazing view of the city. People dont bother you if you dont bother them. Give respect to receive respect. There are not water fountains nor restrooms at least on the trail i was walking. Or maybe they close them the ones by the baseball field area. The stairs trail is a really good workout. Stay on a lane if you are a slow walker so people can pass you on the right side or left side. There is no where around to get snacks, so be ready to take some without as well as plenty of water. Other than that the park is great. Some trails are close. At night i recommend to take a flashlight and maybe a pocket knife for safety. There are plenty squirrels and rabbits, as well as lizards, spiders and creepy noises on the bushes. Lack of light on some areas. Be prepared for mosquitoes...
Read moreBest stairs to get a workout 24/7. It has little rest spots about a quarter or half of the stairs distance and 4 different stair pathways to choose from. There are various park benches, picnic tables, bbq's, Vista views that show about 5 differ cities fireworks during 4th of July or New Years, great field capacity/place for baseball, soccer, or football too. Not sure about reserving the spots, but there is a little office one most likely would find those answers during the weekday. The front entrance they lock and gate up at a certain time so no access to the sports field, however there are side and back pathways that permit walking accessibility. I personally love the craftsmanship of the stairs. They are an asset to the park and Fullerton herself. There are many times I see groups enjoying the stairs to improve health and sometimes competing against each other or one's self. There is a back portion of the park that has a huge field and picnic benches and bbq pits for larger parties; I frequently see fans and kiddos enjoying a great outdoor bbq'ing time together. An American healthy pleasant...
