Abbott Farms — Attraction in Gaffney

The peaches in 2023 are inedible. We have bought peaches from Abbott annually for many years and have always been pleased with the quality of the fruit. Yes, there is an occasional bruised peach, which is to be expected when purchasing a large container of peaches, but the flavor and texture were great. This year, though, every single peach of the 60 or so peaches we bought is inedible. Most are mealy. The one or two that are not completely mealy are either tasteless or bitter. We buy a large quantity in order to make several batches of preserves, as well as for eating fresh, but the peaches are good for no purposes this year. Shame on Abbott for selling them! A waste of time! On our way home from Gaffney Outlets we gave this place a shot. Big mistake! As we arrived, the cashier clearly saw us pulling up to the store through the window. As we walked inside to look around, suddenly the cashier turned off the lights. As she approached the register she told us that she was closing because she had to be somewhere at 6:30 pm. this place was really cool and had good prices and a friendly staff unfortunately 70% of our peaches were rotten within 2-3 days after buying them.. not sure that's normal considering we bought a bunch.... such a bummer... only 6 or so were good for longer than that... lasting about 7 days... id probably pass on the peaches next time maybe passing the exit all together..... nothing against the people as they were super nice and friendly just...
