Was in the drive through ordering two party packs with my family of six the other day.
I was truly craving a chalupa, so I looked at the menu online first, then in the drive through and got the $7 luxe box for myself. I noticed when they handed us the order that the box felt light, so I asked was that all with the $7, and they said it was all there. It was pouring rain, so it was difficult to see and also packed at every single restaurant on the boulevard. We just wanted to get home, so I didn't try to hold up the traffic around me by checking everything as we made it out of the parking lot, since I was the one driving and they said everything was there.
We then took the fifteen minute drive home passed the city limits, got into the house and settled down for our dinner, when I noticed upon pulling everything out that they did, in fact, forget my chalupa.
So, I called the restaurant, and, knowing they were busy, didn't think anything of it when I was hung up on twice and ignored the third time.
It was not the forgotten chalupa, or the first three times I tried to call, but the fourth call... where someone finally answered me, that is the reason for my one-star review of the Gaffney, SC, Floyd Baker Boulevard taco bell.
The lady answered in a flat tone as I let her know very kindly that they mistakenly forgot a part of my order. I let her know which order. This is where the call goes south and the employee on the phone insists that I'm wrong about what came with my order. I tell her no, I'm looking right at the menu online and would not have ordered that specific luxe meal otherwise, as I was especially craving a chalupa. I then described to her that they had, in fact, only given me the contents of the $5-classic box, not the $7 supreme luxe box, by reading the menu, and naming off every item that was supposed to come with each box.
She continued not only to argue with me and tell me that I was wrong, but frequently talked over me, raised her voice and told me they were very busy and that she didn't have time for this.
I continued to press in, and tell her repeatedly to let me speak until, finally, after she stopped and gave me several moments, she asked me what I would like. I told her "just the chalupa that came with the order that I paid for." She said "yes, ma'am, you're right," in a very condescending tone, and told me I could come up and get it.
Unfortunately, I did not return to town that night, as I didn't feel good and the weather was terrible and not the safest to drive in, and instead ate the part of my order that I did receive.
Taco bell of Gaffney has great food when you are craving it, but they really need to work on their customer service. And they still owe me one chalupa, but I'll very likely have to argue yet again with someone...
Read moreWent through drive thru around 3:40 pm. I was the only person in line. Ordered #4 (crunchwrap supreme meal with 2 tacos and drink.) Asked if I wanted to upgrade to double beef for .50 I said no thanks. Told my total and to pull around to second window. Had ordered sweet tea and was handed what tasted like colored water but didnt feel like going through the hassle of handing it back due to the covid19 scare so I just decided to deal with it. Sat for almost ten minutes while cars started to pile up behind me and was brought a bag with nacho bell grande and was asked if I had paid yet which I had already with a card. Told them that wasnt my order. The guy working the window, what looked like 2 managers, and someone else from the back ended up standing at the window looking at a tv screen like they were trying to figure out what I had ordered. They finally asked and I told them. Within seconds they pop up with another bag and apologize and tell me to have a good day. I pulled off knowing I should have check my bag before hand but was just ready to go. Get to stop sign and reach in bag and can immediately tell something isnt right. Turns out I'm given a single taco and the miniature doughnut looking things. As aggravated as I was with my experience I decided not to go back and waste who knows how much more of my time and wait in line to try and get a corrected order. Plus if they cant get a simple order right I can only imagine how well they are doing on sanitation right now. So I made a right and went to chic fila, got my correct order in a fraction of the time with atleast 8 cars ahead of me. Will not be returning to...
